    I worked at Nando's Canada part-time

    Pros

    - Free food (sometimes)
    - Get tipped fairly often. Roughly 5$ extra per shift
    - Nice co-workers

    Cons

    - Random undercover customers would constantly be reviewing you on your performance, which was more annoying than anything. Eg: did you serve the customers drink with a glass full of ice? That didn't make sense because it was a self-serve restaurant in that department
    - Eventually your clothes smelled like Nando's
    - Some rude customers

    Advice to Management

Be nicer to your waiters during rush hours. It's fine if you're stressed, but taking some of it out on the cashiers/grillers is not very nice - even if it happens occasionally.

    I worked at Nando's Canada part-time

    Pros

-only my co-workers were kind and welcoming

    Cons

    -greedy and cheap management
    -manager would steal my tips
-take credit/debit transactions out of the till with tips on it
-take cash tips left on table or in tip jar when I am not looking
    -manager screamed and belittled me
    -extremely disrespectful
-manager was also a pervert and constantly flirted with underage female guests
-told me I was given a free meal per shift during my interview and never gave it to me

    Advice to Management

-have some ethics and don't steal employee's hard earned money
-don't tarnish Nando's name when you are operating as a Franchise

    Pros

I was around the most tasteful food..

    Cons

I worked at this location for 2 years and I never got a break... Whether I worked 5-7 hours.. I always had to keep standing and working. If I sat down for five minutes I was demanded to do another duty. I never got vacation pay or holiday pay, and I never got payed for training. It is very biased in terms of race. If you come in you know they will never hire anyone of " white or black" it is always Tamils or Indians. It is very favouritism. The owners chose one particular girl they are family friends with and they talk in their language through out the shift while you work. It is the worst place to work at!!

    Advice to Management

I have visited other locations, such as richmondhill, downtown, missuaga, eglinton and I have realized they all have such great family bond and they are very welcoming. But the markham location is very biased and mistreats their employees. An advice is to keep in touch how your franchise managers are handling their employees because from what I have seen, cooperate ran franchise are flexible with their employees and respects them Better than this location.

I worked at Nando's Canada full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great employer with long term opportunities for growth within the business. I was very happy with my employment and the team were vey much like a family.

    Cons

Lack of training and very busy atmosphere meant that new trainees had a diluted version of quality customer service.

    Advice to Management

Investing in current employees through time and education is way to avoid a high turnover of staff and ensure commitment.
