    Pros

There were a lot of dedicated people working in individual contributor/first level management roles who really wanted to develop great products

    Cons

Executive level management was focused on trying to get that big deal that would bring in a windfall. As a result, the product strategy was based on what the latest potential big customer wanted.

    Advice to Management

Set a product strategy that has a chance for success then stick to it. Select customers based on how they will fit in with the strategy.

    Pros

Free fruits at 11 o clock.
Good lunch and dinner parties when Higher management comes down to India.
Cant think of anything apart from this.

    Cons

Worst Management who think about filling their pockets and looting who are funding the company.
No respect for employees who put in their heart and soul in their work.
Technology is below standard and dont get to learn anything
    Waste of time and experience.

    Advice to Management

Think about the product rather than filling your pockets with money.
You are being a failure by selling the company.
Leave the company and retire rather than playing with the lives of many engineers.

I worked at Narus full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Working with smart, good people. They tried to make it fun, although the workload made that really difficult.

    Cons

Terrible, bloated management; lack of vision means products with no customers, and product releases canceled. Management team runs from one opportunity to another. Agile process was never followed and used mostly for cover. Engineering runs rogue at times. No specs. Teams in India are not keep abreast of changes. Documentation is not reviewed.

    Advice to Management

I have no clue, except to get rid of the managers who make everyone miserable.

Maybe it is time to consider retiring.

"Poor overall executive team. Where is the DNA of defensive cyber security in its products?"

    Star Star Star Star Star
Former Employee - Senior Director of Engineering in Sunnyvale, CA
Former Employee - Senior Director of Engineering in Sunnyvale, CA

I worked at Narus full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The CTO Office host a competent team of researchers. Comes to engineering, it is a place where they will pay well for head counts in order to keep the noise level down, not about building a product that can protect enterprises from cyber attack, such as network server hardening. Happy goes lucky!

    Cons

Engineering management came to the job without prior relevant experience in basic cyber defense such as server hardening. Mockups shown during RSA Exhibition never made into a product. After couple years of the new management, yet to find a revenue stream that can enable it to meet its expenditures and financial obligations, instead, it begs additional funds in multi-millions from its parent company, Overall lack of honesty and integrity.

    Advice to Management

A new executive team is needed sooner than later.
