Pros
Narvar is the first tech company I've worked for, as well as the first startup. I've been here for a year so far and it's been a really interesting journey. I've learned new tools, systems, products, dynamics and concepts since my start, and I learn more and more everyday. My manager is 100% supportive of my growth and has helped me navigate new projects and responsibilities that support my interests and growth trajectory. Narvar is a great place to be if you're looking to explore a new field or a current one - your goals are kept in mind and pursued alongside your team and the entire company feels like one giant cheer squad - everyone is rooting for you. There's a big culture of celebrating wins, which is great, and you can tell that folks are really intelligent and care about what we're doing. It can be quite inspiring!
Cons
Like most companies in a similar stage of growth, Narvar has some growing pains. If in-office bonding is HUGE for you, I would look elsewhere, as we are a fully distributed company. That being said, the culture is still great and it's obvious that people are trying, which I think is the most important. We're all in this together, and the solidarity really comes through in flying colours. I've only met folks in my region, but I do feel loyal and supportive to everyone that I may never meet. You'll need to figure things out for yourself - you'll have support, but only you know what works for you and what doesn't at the end of the day. It's been hard learning what's a healthy challenge and what's a systemic issue, but again, it really seems like we're all working towards ironing out the bumps.

Prudent Management | Great Co-Workers | A Practical SaaS Product
Jan 31, 2023 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
*Management plans for the long term...We don't waste cash on frivolous pursuits or amenities. *CEO is acutely aware of the importance of work + life as he has his own family * The people who work here are friendly, sensible, and fun. *Unlike many SaaS products which are difficult to understand and questionable in their real-world value, our product offering is easy to grasp and even easier to measure in terms of real-world impact. *Remote-first work environment is appreciated!
Cons
*The only con that really jumps to mind is tied to being remote...95% of the time remote is a benefit. But there is that 5% of the time where you wish you could sit in the same room with a co-worker or go out after hours for a beer.

Run, don't walk away from Narvar!
May 19, 2023 - Account Executive in San Francisco, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Good base salary and paid time off.
Cons
I'm not sure where to start. From the day I started, I did not feel like I was set up for success at Narvar. I came in, ready to hustle and develop as a sales rep and I had no support or tools to bring that to fruition. The quota's are completely unattainable. They expect you to prospect but have taken away the tools needed to effectively reach out to the right customer profile. The culture is terrible in every segment, most people are pretentious and unapproachable. It has been an emotional rollercoaster and I would not advise this place to anyone looking to develop their sales career.

Pros
You can be successful here if you are willing to move fast and be very brutal in your decisions and relationships.
Cons
Leadership has a new direction every 3 months that can throw the org into chaos. That is also just part of SaaS.

Avoid at all costs - CX/PS/CS
Jan 17, 2023 - Anonymous Employee in San Francisco, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Remote culture Really good people overall [excludes upper management] Interesting use cases and mostly stable product
Cons
Where do I start? The entire premise of a PS/CX/CS organization is to work with clients and anything front facing requires patience as well as product knowledge; Narvar upper management only sees numbers and not the people. Some of the best co-workers I've had the privilege of working existed at Narvar but because of absolute abysmal planning, lack of motivation by upper management, lack of empathy for people's skills/career growth aspirations and other factors, I cannot recommend anyone join this company. The CEO while a nice guy completely lies to your face during the all-hands meetings about layoffs and "doing well" but yet never addresses the fact that good workers have left this company WITHOUT jobs and onto greener pastures-- that tells you something. On top of that, when non-management staff tells you that more training is needed, team morale is low, the workload is overwhelming -- umm.. their solution is to have virtual escape rooms and focus on removing people rather than talking about the issues. The level of disrespect from upper management to the lower level staff is the worst I've experienced. I feel bad for the great minds that have left here and while I don't regret what I learned, if you do end up joining - learn what you can and move on.

We’re sorry you had a negative experience. The past year has certainly posed many challenges as the market changed quickly and we had to adapt accordingly. Your feedback clearly relays that we can do a better job of managing fast-paced change in some areas of our organization, and we will take that to heart.

RUN don't walk away from Narvar
Dec 3, 2022 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The longstanding Narvians who actually understand the product and who deeply care about the company's future are UNMATCHED. Literally the best human beings you can work alongside. There's a camaraderie amongst them and they've been able to build the most amazing relationships with new team members who are "lower level" (individual contributors, frontline managers). They want nothing more than to succeed and will do anything to help those around them.
Cons
However, new team members who've been brought into upper level management are egotistical & generally useless. They've made our day-to-day lives HARDER because they don't understand the basic principles that Narvar is built on. They don't understand how the product works nor do they trust the knowledge that lower low staff holds. They lead with ego and ego alone which prevents anyone from making meaningful progress but guess who ends up being held accountable at the end of the day? Yep, the "lower level" people who are ACTUALLY DOING THE WORK. To say Narvar' current leadership team is a joke is an understatement. If they continue to lead the way they've been leading for the last year, then this company is going down and it's going down fast. My advice: RUN THE OTHER WAY...but take some of these amazing individuals with you.

decent people and average startup culture mean nothing without good leadership.
Jan 29, 2023 - AnonymousRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
large enterprise customer base, on paper has the characteristics of a successful startup that could make it to IPO
Cons
everything negative stated in 2022-2023 reviews is true. While maintaining decent numbers, key teams remain majorly understaffed (PS, SE) and the problem is just continuing to snowball. Truly wonder what is going on in exec leadership’s heads.

We recognize that the last year has brought about many challenges - both externally and internally as we adapted to market changes and new information. Hiring continues to be a top priority and we are focused on finding the right candidates for the right roles to align with our business strategies. As for benefits, we continue to assess our offerings to align with competitors and business objectives. For clarification, in the US we do offer 16 weeks paid maternity, 8 weeks paid paternity and 11 paid federal holidays. We would be happy to listen to any other feedback or concerns - please feel free to reach out to a member of the People team.

Welcome to the gulags, get ready for failure by design!
Nov 4, 2022 - Account Executive in El Segundo, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Great customer references - Helpful and supportive colleagues for the most part - Pioneer in creating the post purchase customer experience
Cons
- CEO talks a big game but cares little for the people that make the company have any success - Products are not unique, and leadership loves to beat their chest thinking they are untouchable, no humility. - CRO is a racist bully, creating a culture of rule by fear. Only people safe are those as sadistic as he is. Boy club warning! He did the same thing at his last companies, no surprise. - The company has money in the bank supposedly and refuse to use it to better the product and develop the existing employees. They hope to IPO looking like a cash rich profitable unicorn while the opposite is true. - They balance the bank sheet by getting rid of quality people. - Employee retention is not existent - Beware, this employer is willing to break employment laws by using coercion and lies. - Little support and no growth opportunities, be prepared to be setup to fail.

Disorganized, lack of support, isolated working environments
Jan 3, 2023 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The company has many big name clients.
Cons
The new hire training didn’t really provide great information. Needed to self-navigate the whole process and products. Products knowledges were outdated. Sales didn’t know the new product functionalities oftentimes. Never had performance review at the 30, 60 and 90 days as I was told. The upper management team monitored everything the sales were doing. How many emails did you send? How many calls did you make? They only cared about the sales numbers. You were treated as numbers. They also often changed the strategies if it didn’t workout in a short period of time and never listened to the suggestion. It didn’t provide a long term career growth path. Unless you have been here for a long time, you were able to have leads, otherwise you were on your own.
