    Pros

The hospital is in the midst of upgrades, renovations and
new programs. It is exciting to see NGH taking it to the next
level! I love the team I work with!

    Cons

Change creates challenges in doing something new, but it is going to be worth it!

I have been working at Nashville General Hospital at Meharry full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

My coworkers are like a family. We are a team working together to provide the best care possible for all patients. It is very rewarding to work in a hospital that treats every patient the same, whether they have commercial insurance or no insurance at all, they are why we are here.

    Cons

The only downside is that is that you have no control over the amount the city will fund to keep the hospital open and providing care, so you have to be conservative in all things possible. Sometimes we can't purchase the latest upgrades due to cost, but we are a great team and somehow make it work for the best interest of the patient.

I worked at Nashville General Hospital at Meharry full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They have really great chicken pot pie 😂I can't say much else about them except I will never work for them again!

    Cons

Everyone if "authority" blames everyone else for mistakes that THEY made, they never admit when they are wrong and make unethical choices.. Unsterile and lacks funding and knowledge of what actually needs to be done. Check out the 11th floor with all its new digs in. Thats where your tax payer money is going.. Reverse discrimination was a constant wonder..

    Advice to Management

Hire people that know something about their job. That might help.

I have been working at Nashville General Hospital at Meharry full-time

    Pros

NGH is small but mighty. You must be mission driven to succeed here. Our patient population is diverse and we care for both insured and uninsured. If you have never stepped foot inside our facility, you should visit. Seeing is believing.

    Cons

Never fully funded; always having to go back to Metro for more dollars. Not sure why Metro thinks hospital can sustain same or less subsidy amount over 10 years at the rate in which healthcare costs increase year after year. Management is pushing evidenced based care at lowest possible cost.
