I have been working at National Association of Federal Credit Unions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Small association. Great benefits. Supportive supervisors and leadership willing to help you advance your career. Metro Benefits.

    Cons

This is my first job out of college and I really want to stay and advance my career here, but there is no opportunity for that in my department unfourtunately

    Pros

Great benefits, and the office is metro accessible.

    Cons

Pretty sure the only reason people recommend working here is for the referral payout. That's the only time you'll be fairly compensated for your work.

    Advice to Management

Micromanaging is the antithesis of managing. Learn the difference.

    Pros

Great people, great benefits. It's a great place to work out of college.

    Cons

Because the company gets a lot of recent graduates, the turn around rate can be high.

I worked at National Association of Federal Credit Unions full-time

    Pros

Idk, after they treat you like crap they usually give free lunch.

    Cons

They degrade, disrepect and disregard people. You don't matter unless you are a higher up. Saw a 26 year old with only like a year experience get a DIRECTOR position over MUCH MORE qualified people who have been there a year. All jobs have politics but this entire job was silly office politics.

    Advice to Management

Treat people like they are humans it will make you a better employer and person. Don't act like its the white house

    Pros

Some departments are ok. You get a lot of time off around the holidays. If you kiss up you may be able to get a huge promotion.

    Cons

Regulation, compliance government affairs the energy and culture are sad and abusive. I've seen employees disrespected beyond belief. Doesn't matter how hard you work they better like you you better compliment them and act like you could have drinks with then because the management team cares about Brown nosers. There are 25 year old directors and 30 year old vps people who have been there for years have been passed up in favor of people who kiss up

    Advice to Management

Get a soul. Be better people. Don't blame your staff for everything. Treat those below you like people. Their lives are just as important. Get you head out of your own "world"

I worked at National Association of Federal Credit Unions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, nice office location, supportive HR department

    Cons

High turnover, little recognition for accomplishments, inappropriate behavior by leadership team.

    Advice to Management

You need to treat employees with more respect, and work on conflict resolution instead of being passive aggressive. You should also recognize all employees for hard work, not just the leadership team. The turnover rate is the highest I've seen in my career. Firing and layoffs do happen, but it should be an exception not the norm.
