I worked at National Association of State Alcohol and Drug Abuse Directors, Inc. as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

I was able to go to a lot of both government and NGO events. These were informative and engaging. Good salary for interns.

    Cons

The actual work felt repetitive, and somewhat fell short of being satisfying.

    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

Excellent benefits package for company of its size.

    Cons

Promotions are highly political and prone to favoritism. No sense of good business practices. Original initiatives often thwarted. Very poor internal communication mechanisms.

    Advice to Management

Senior management needs to be grounded in solid, competitive business practices and less influenced by politics.
