I worked at National Bank of Arizona (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Small community bank feel, where you have the ability to meet and rub shoulders with top executives. Much better environment than my former larger banks I have worked for.

    Cons

Pay could be a little more aggressive and benefits aren't the greatest I've had with the company. However, I am thankful to at least have benefits available to me.

    Advice to Management

Review industry pay for position, as NBAZ is a little conservative. However, company as a whole is a great company to work for.

I have been working at National Bank of Arizona full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Handful of talented and nice people that work there
    - Monday to Friday, 9a - 5p job
    - Building close to a few good restaurants

    Cons

    - Middle and senior management don't live by the bank's core values. Not approachable nor true partners
    - Senior management's main goal with certain departments: be under budget. No real strategy behind decisions
    - Many department managers are incapable of leading themselves let alone their teams
    - Pay is low. No real benefits
    - Manager's response when asked about career opportunities: "I don't know."
    - Never seen a company with such an extremely high rate of turnover

I worked at National Bank of Arizona (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fairly easy and speedy hiring process.

    Cons

Many different cliques. New hires are not always invited in with open arms. Very minimal to no training. Low pay very little negotiation.

    Advice to Management

Open door policy was spoken of but not practiced. Treat employees as valuable across the board. Anyone could see that favoritism was practiced, throughout the banking system.

    Pros

one of the only banks closed on weekend- and holidays off which is very nice

    Cons

although the bank is great to work for there is weak technology compared to some of the other banks i have worked for in the past

    Advice to Management

management seems to be good people but i think they are micro managed from the upper management which causes stress in the branch

I worked at National Bank of Arizona full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The day they terminated my employment and set me FREE!
The best thing about my NBA experience was....LEAVING!

    Cons

Too Many to count! Every year Arizona Business Magazine rates various companies. The magazine has a very poor and limited circulation. Come around time for the voting at the Magazine for "Best Bank" NBA attaches to their email a link to vote and the best part...there is no limit on how often you can vote! They stuff the ballot box, then brag every year that they were voted best bank in Arizona! HaHa! Any praise you see by NBA on any website is from management, DON'T BE FOOLED!!!

    Advice to Management

When you see that they are going to sell....sharpen up your resume because there is no Bank any of you would survive at! You have ZERO customer service skills and ZERO employee management skills!
