I worked at National Bank of Arizona full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    401k and time off

    Cons

Management became to goal motivated and stopped caring about building client relationships. Weekly pressure to meet goals at any cost! Daily call reports...sound familiar? Burning through employees quickly, used to be a great company but now very phony.

    Advice to Management

They need to look at turnover and realize they are the cause, they talk one set of values and culture but definitely not the reality.

I worked at National Bank of Arizona full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Some of my co-workers were great to work with.

    Cons

This bank used to be a great place to work at until corporate decided to consolidate. Now management and HR they currently have allows their employees and Managers to take long 2 hour lunches and drink until they come back drunk and let them work on customer files. If you refused to be part of that group you were bullied. And after presenting HR with proof they decided to let it continue. Terrible place to work!!!

    Advice to Management

Take a long look at current manager's practices and how unhappy the employees are and make positive changes or continue to have lawsuits against the bank.

I worked at National Bank of Arizona full-time for more than a year

    Pros

A good way to gain experience in managing a lot of egos at once. Truly, it did help to see what a truly dysfunctional workplace could be like and avoid that in the future.

    Cons

The corporate building is falling apart and there are very few perks. Poor benefits, employees actually told me not to get a mortgage with NBAZ because it would be messed up! You see people get promoted who shouldn't have graduated kindergarten.

    Advice to Management

Break up the old boy's club, don't promote bullies, don't promote based on who looks best on their headshot, and fire the entire Marketing department and rebuild it with adults.

I have been working at National Bank of Arizona full-time

    Pros

Ability to choose work schedule. Paid holidays.

    Cons

Horrible healthcare benefits. Poor Management. Not compensated for quality of work.

    Advice to Management

Rather than favor tenured employees who do the bare minimum, promote and/or compensate those who provide quality work. Be open to change. Offer better medical benefits.

I have been working at National Bank of Arizona full-time

    Pros

You get to learn all aspects of banking, build relationships with the clients and use all applicable skills to assist clients

    Cons

Overhead is not that good. They are going through a lot of internal changes so bumps are expected but I don't feel anyone in upper management knows or cares how this effects both employees and customers.

    Advice to Management

Get real, understand the rules your effecting and how your changes really affect everyone involved.

I worked at National Bank of Arizona full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    I cannot think of any

    Cons

Benefits are horrible. Management doesn’t care, the are condescending and pretend to listen but do not make any changes. Turnover is very high, no potential for growth. Management operates on favoritism and that is also how they determine who gets promoted. Worst experience I have ever had.

    Advice to Management

Get some real managers who actually care about the people and not just yourself.

I worked at National Bank of Arizona full-time

    Pros

It is a job and better than collecting unemployment.

    Cons

Substandard pay with unreasonable goals and demands. For many positions, the turnover is VERY high. Management refuses to recognize there is a problem and parent company management in Utah turns a blind eye. Relationship managers are literally lied to before hire, brought into an environment where they are set up to fail, and run off after ridiculously short ramp up time. Unless you are one of the good ol' boys who...

    Advice to Management

Local management will not listen nor change their ways. Parent company management really needs to investigate what is going on in their Arizona division, but they need to do it from the bottom up. Talk to the employees, not the corrupt management.
