I have been working at National CORE full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I have very much enjoyed working at National CORE. The company's culture is very positive and welcoming. The leadership of the organization has invested in my professional growth and is sincere about developing its employees. The company's mission of transforming lives and communities is very appealing, and it's very enjoyable to participate in making a positive difference in neighborhoods across the country.

    Cons

The affordable housing industry is constantly changing and under pressure from various external conditions. It does make change a constant and work very interesting!

    Advice to Management

I applaud the management team for their commitment to the company's mission and to their employees. I'm very pleased with the company's culture and ongoing work to better the lives of its residents and the communities in which we work.

    Cons

Management is poor, bad example of work ethic and behaviors.

    Advice to Management

Re-evalute the high turn over rate. Replace the old with Quality management.

I worked at National CORE part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They have a few soild people that won't stab you in the back.

    Cons

They don't care about you as an employee. They treat Hispanics better than any other race. They property's are dirty. No matter how good you clean it, they will blame you for their dirty tenants that don't care. They lie about giving you uniforms after your probation. It took almost a year to get mine. They speak Spanish in front of you knowing you don't understand. Very rude. Worst company I ever worked for.

    Advice to Management

No room for advancement. They say if you start on the bottom you can take classes to move up, that's a lie.

I worked at National CORE full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Its nice when HR gets back to you

    Cons

But half the time HR doesn't get back to you and they don't care about harassment cases like they should. And they don't keep promises about raises.

    Advice to Management

Make everyone equal in the company and don't discriminate against someone just because they are lower in the company than you are.

I worked at National CORE full-time

    Pros

Great trainings. Monday through Friday, Saturdays and Sundays off. Paid benefits.

    Cons

Low pay, no bonus program, commissions are a joke. No room for advancement .

    Advice to Management

You have a tendency to breed superstars and then let them go. You don't promote from within and constantly let talent walk out the door. If I were you I'd be trying to figure out how to keep those people.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at National CORE full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

NCORE had a great working environment which one can grow exceptionally well. The open work environment helped the staff work fluidly. The benefits matched with other competitors. Work/life balance is great due to its flexibility.

    Cons

They will train you well but they fail to award people with better career opportunities. Constant senior management changes created a toxic and hostile work environment. Senior Management also fail to listen to the staff for changes. Frankly, I feel the current CEO is not the best leader for the organization. I do not know if the board of directors know about the staff leaving the organization for other better opportunities or understand the toxic environment.

    Advice to Management

Provide better personal growth and follow through the company values. I believe senior management does not know personally the NCORE values. Changes are need at the leadership level or NCORE will struggle significantly.

Current Employee - Regional Manager in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

    Pros

Compnay culture is very "family" oriented. The priorities are your family comes first, then your career. Stresses the importance of communication and how we are a resident oriented company. Benefit package is probably the best out there.

    Cons

Pay is not as high as some other companies.Takes too long to get a final decsion from the leadership team.

    Advice to Management

Start making descions in a timely manner or you will always be behind. The technology is to out of date and until you bring it up to speed the company will have a harder time competing outside of the regional market.
