    Positive Outlook

I have been working at National Counseling Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The work done at NCG is rewarding work, no matter what position you are in you know that you are helping children and families. The culture of the organization creates a fun team atmosphere.

    Cons

Not unlike most social work jobs it is difficult to create a healthy work-life balance. Most positions require being on-call. The pay, while competitive, is not high making it difficult to live in some higher income areas.

    Advice to Management

Decisions are made without the input of those that it will impact the most. At times new intiatives are already underway staff provide important information that would be better received on the front end.

I worked at National Counseling Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

National Counseling Group offers great benefits to all employees and provides employment opportunities almost anywhere you are in the state of Virginia.

    Cons

If you are full time and for some reason you drop below 30 direct hours a week for 4 weeks, you are dropped to part time and lose benefits. The pay is relatively low compared to other mental health companies.

    Advice to Management

Increase pay of employees and be more understanding if staff can't get 30 hours a week for 4 weeks due to clients not being willing to be seen.
