I have been working at National Counseling Group full-time

    Pros

Great employees, great clinical experience, great benefits, competitive pay with opportunities to make more, flexible schedule, supervisors rock, NCG cares about her employees! I have been here for a while and enjoy the work and the people more than any other place I have ever worked.

    Cons

Work life balance. Our clients always need more, so need to have good boundaries.

    Advice to Management

Do a better job communicating. I know you care, and would like more follow through.

I have been working at National Counseling Group full-time

    Pros

Great pay. Great company with lots of different opportunities . Leadership has "been there and done that" so they get what its like. Definitley growing and the more you work, the more you get paid. Flexibility. Very ethical with a strong, simple mission. "to improve lives".

    Cons

not many cons if this is what you want to do. Sometimes there are communication cahllenges since we are not often in the office.

    Advice to Management

be sure to take the time to listen to your employees and check in with them often. we really want to know that you care.

I have been working at National Counseling Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great co-counselors, for the most part; and the clinical supervision is excellent. My supervisor is almost always available to me, and mentoring is provided for a new employee as well. Better benefits package now than last year, and the pay is competitive. Opportunities for growth and advancement. It's a lot of traveling but not nearly as much as or as bad as other companies in the area. They try to keep you local to your living area as much as possible.

    Cons

You have to use your own computer. A lot of times the new EMR system goes down or has glitches. If you pull in less than 30 clinical hours a week you have to use your PTO, if you have it; if not, then you have to claim unpaid leave for the remaining hours. This can be a problem when clients no show, or when it's the holidays, or during extended illnesses. Work-life balance is difficult since you're on-call 24/7, and ALWAYS trying to get those clinical hours!

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to your staff, they're the ones in the field and know what's going on! Consider paid holidays, as opposed to just using PTO all the time. Provide company laptops.
