I have been working at National Grid for less than a year

    Pros

Managers in my department are great — they promote empowerment and don’t micromanage. Typically a good work life balance. Friendly and hardworking culture.

    Cons

It can be disorganized at times. There’s an opportunity for significantly more governance to streamline processes

I have been working at National Grid full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Fantastic work/life balance. Lots of work from home opportunities. There is a lot of opportunity for talented people to stand out - in part because the bar is low. The 401(k) match and bonuses are good.

    Cons

Heavily regulated industry leads to many layers of bureaucracy. They reorganize every few years for some reason. Many complainers who are just sticking around for the pension.
