I worked at National Head Start Association full-time

      Pros

The children in the program are innocent little children, hopeful and eager to learn.

      Cons

There is a band of people that routinely come and observe your classroom and teaching practices. Their reports are harsh and unrealistic. People sitting in a quiet office determine your fate while you are stuck in a classroom with no breaks, unruly behavior issues and no support.

      Advice to Management

Get out of your offices and into the classroom!

I have been working at National Head Start Association full-time for more than 4 years

      Pros

Gain experience with preschool aged children. The children are great!

      Cons

The pay does not match the amount of work you have to do. Parent can be very difficult. Hard to move up to management positions.

      Advice to Management

Train new teachers better and thoroughly. Increase the pay by like $3.00.

I have been working at National Head Start Association full-time for more than a year

        Pros

The job is pretty straight forward once you get the hang of it. It's a job that requires a lot of time management and driving. So, if you like that then this is a great job.

        Cons

The pay is what you would expect from a non profit, so it isn't high. And I do believe they can do a better job at training new employees.
