I have been working at National Heritage Academies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great staff and support from Deans and principal.

    Cons

New teachers tend to be put on the back burner and expected to know things that were never explained or taught.

    Advice to Management

Focus on new teachers and retaining them.

I worked at National Heritage Academies full-time

    Pros

I was challenged in my character and career, which helped me become a better person and teacher.

    Cons

I didn't have support from the Principal, my authority was undermined in front of the students, there weren't any disciplinary actions taken so students got away with anything and everything.

    Advice to Management

Support your teachers, especially the new teachers, do not undermine teacher's authority especially in front of students, and make sure to enforce disciplinary action when needed.

Caring and supportive co-workers. Principal is kind and respectful of all staff members. Students overall are respectful and follow rules and expectations.

    Cons

High expectations for people new to NHA without adequate support and guidance.
Over testing of students. No plan for hanging on to well qualified teachers.

I have been working at National Heritage Academies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It's a place with nice people and a friendly atmosphere. People seem to genuinely care about the students they work for and their success.

    Cons

The company seems to be comfortable with being average. They're happy with average employee engagement and using the line "well that's how other company's do it" as an excuse for making weak decisions.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. All too often decisions are made without the input from the people doing the work. Sometimes this leads to poorly executed ideas, but management seems to be unwilling to change once the ball gets rolling, even if a plan is failing.
