I have been working at National Interstate full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Health insurance. 401k. Decent vacation time. Free gym and coffee. Flex time. Company is growing at a rapid rate so there are positions available.

    Cons

You need to be a man to succeed here. The pay is not related to your performance. Make sure you drink the kool-aid because if you don't, you're labeled a pariah.

    Advice to Management

This isn't the 1950's, stop passing over women who are more qualified just to hire men who are not. Focus on employee retention and not just getting people in the door.

    Advice to Management

Employee retention should be #1 priority to maintain experienced adjusters and look to see why high turnover and terminations.

I worked at National Interstate full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Fellow employees are willing to help Location

    Cons

Managment is more concerned with internal numbers then helping or backing up employees No training on insurance policies or procedures No flex time Hours are long and there is not compensation, perks or even thank you for extra hours Little to no direction from management, all help comes from fellow employees which is not always correct For size of company benefits are expensive, 401K is a joke at yearly contribution

    Advice to Management

Good people are leaving due to management and lack of training. Focus on training current employees and not how many new hires are coming in every month. Update your benefits and outlook on flex time.
