I have been working at National Tsing Hua University full-time

    Pros

    Smart people yet humble
    Great work ethics
Very good perks and they always surprise you over and over again .
A lot of High impacting projects for a large scale company like Google.

    Cons

Big companies have more budget for excess management layers, hiring numbers that preclude being too picky, and too few opportunities for people to distinguish themselves. That makes situations where politics are required for advancement much more likely. They have big revenues which can support substantial pay packages, have a hard time attracting senior talent, and advancing far enough can consequently imply a large compensation delta for more seniority. That really encourages people to play political games. Politics are still a problem when you don't care about advancing because there's less interesting new work than there are experienced developers to fight over it.

I have been working at National Tsing Hua University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Students are hard working and friendly.

    Cons

Low salary, unsafe labs and low quality faculty. There appears to be a strong culture of cronyism when hiring faculty members. Their inability to innovate and lead is leading to mediocre, low quality research, and little respect from students, which further exacerbates things. Look elsewhere if you want to work with the brightest scientific minds.

    Advice to Management

Please hire faculty based on merit, before NTHUs reputation goes down the toilet.
