    Pros

    - great staff
    - great facilities
    - fast paced learning environment
    - everyone's really considerate
    - your learning is prioritized
    - close to facilities

    Cons

Can be a bit stressful at times. Lots of red tape to get administrative work done. Protocol is inconsistent. people can be unfriendly if busy. paperwork is a pain, and efficiency can be low in certain departments.

    Advice to Management

Give more flexibility and openness to interns. Make sure they're guided by someone who's experienced and knows what they're doing. Do more weekly check ups to ensure the intern is on track.

I have been working at National University Hospital full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pay, bonus, travel convenient and welfare package. Good facilities and amenities nearby

    Cons

Top down management approach with the lower lever manager getting most of the punches of the change of policies. No concrete direction management too pleasing to clinicians and upper management feedbacks. Management also changing policies to please clinicians or upper management making administrator work futile. Not open to job rotation resulting in not much new things to learn and only spending your time doing work to management fickler minded policies.

    Advice to Management

Be more clear in management direction and put more responsibility to the management level instead of stressing on lower level management.

    Pros

    1) The people working in the hospital are very good to work and cooperate with.
    2) The doctors do respect the people working in the lab as the technicians are the ones processing their samples.
    3) Organization in the labs is well-done.

    Cons

    1) The technicians do not follow the safety rules especially when large amounts of formalin has to be transferred to the waste bucket. They do not wear the N95 mask and hence breathe in the dangerous fumes.

    2) The air ventilation system in the hospital is very bad. The air is not properly filtered so fumes of formalin, xylene, dangerous chemicals etc. can be breathed in which is bad as some of the chemicals are carcinogens.

I worked at National University Hospital full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Kind and loving people, being mostly nurses and doctors
    - Well maintained sports facilities and fun sports classes
    - Many opportunities to be trained and learn new things
    - Competitive remuneration package
    - Offers flexibenefits which can claim for many different things

    Cons

    - The workload is ever increasing but they are now tight on manpower.
    - The longer you work, your profile actually expands with no fixed shape or speed
    - With so many departments and policies to follow, and so many nurses to support, I began to feel afloat....

    Advice to Management

    - Some people you hired only knows how to talk but got nothing much done. It makes me doubt the ability of the management sometimes. I have seen much sharper senior management in private sectors who are very on the ball when it comes to keeping only the genuine staff and offering real good deals to keep them.
