I have been working at National University of Singapore as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

9-6 working hours usually. Have access to University resources. Always renew contract unless you made no contribution at all.

    Cons

Payment really sucks... and management is not efficient with some people working less than 40 hours a week while others could double that time. Have seem people quitting job after less than a month because of the pressure.

    Advice to Management

Increase the salary for institutional researchers and balance the work assigned to each employee ...

I have been working at National University of Singapore full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent facilities and a lot of government investment in research.
One of the best universities for research in Asia.
    Great location - Singapore.

    Cons

Forget what the ratings say - it still cannot compare with the well-established universities in the US and Europe: uninspiring professors and mostly uninspired students.
Feels more like a school than a University.

I have been working at National University of Singapore full-time

    Pros

There's a fair bit of annual leave for research staff (28 days). Depending on the supervisor, they can be also fairly flexible on when you can take the leave (project based and thus more flexible)

    Cons

Salary is not as much and bonus is all performance based (i.e. no 13th month bonus etc.). Salary increment is also quite limited.
