I worked at National Western full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It depends on the department you work in and also your supervisor. Some departments are very flexible and they give opportunities of Friday party and birthday party for employees to be happy.

    Cons

Not very good benefit. Quite some people gossip around. Very high turnover rate. Not a stable place. Policy changes every day.

I have been working at National Western full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good place if you are looking for long term stability and a non-challenging work. Mostly friendly enviroment. Underwritting is full of smart and proficent people, good job!

    Cons

Forget about career development opportunities, bonuses and raises. Make sure to finish on time your repetitive duties, they don´t allow overtime. But, also most of activities are easy to do and does not take a lot of mental effort to do well .
There is a funny guy in a really high position who doesn´t know anything about processes, he cannot control his libidinous leering and the entire company notices. And is true, HR doesn´t do anything.

    Advice to Management

Think about to have more leaders instead overweening bosses. Don´t block people proactivity and please do something against the sexual harrasment
    Benefits are expensive!

    Pros

Experience can be gained if you are a go getter and willing to do work above your pay grade. Not expected to work insane hours.

    Cons

Compensation is poor and employees aren't valued. Very old school. Still on mainframe computers. Can't work from home. Health insurance is very expensive.

    Advice to Management

You get what you pay for!
