I have been working at Nationwide full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great place to work if you need flexibility with your home life. There are opportunities for advancement if you are mobile and/or work in Columbus. You don't have to be qualified to get promoted.

    Cons

Work load is heavy and at times overwhelming. Pay scale is below average and increases and bonuses are slight. Evaluations are based on popularity and not performance; managers collectively rate employees and decide final performance ratings. Tenured employees are unappreciated and considered by management to be overpaid.

    Advice to Management

Think about why you are doing what you are doing and learn how to analyze the results that you are tracking. Stop going with the flow and bring new ideas to the table. Listen to and learn from your employees. Your employees are your most important asset - treat them as such.

I worked at Nationwide part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits and work environment. Minimum wage is 15$/hr which is not bad at all for a starting career. You also get a good amount of paid vacation time. Overtime opportunities.

    Cons

The financial services representative position is as micromanaged as it gets. they will not hire enough people for the call center which cases just about every working day to bring in back-to-back calls. Upon hiring they insist this call center is not a "sweat shop", however, that is exactly what it has become.

    Advice to Management

Hire more people and give everyone two 15 minute breaks rather than only two 10 minute breaks. Even 10 minutes off "assistance" time at the end of each day would be great to read over emails/read over "tickets"/submit any tickets that there was no time for during the work day
