    Pros

    Modern work spaces, fun group events, good location, beautiful office space A very friendly CEO. He is a great guy!

    Cons

    HR is horrible. You cannot trust HR to support you. Managers in most areas are absolute tyrants. No advancement for new entrants. Pay was on the low side for amount of work required and demanded. The expectation was to be working on weekends, through lunches and breaks. Vacation requests were frowned upon.

    Advice to Management

    Get rid of HR in upper and mid levels.

    Pros

    Good benefits and travel perks, office/work spaces are pretty nice, new computers and tech

    Cons

    Fair share of cliques, office politics, back stabbing, passive aggressive senior level workers, a lot of two-faced people (nice to your face, but will talk smack about you), HR dept = "Mean Girls", most higher ups wear their personal political persuasions on their sleeves, unprofessional managers who will run entry level workers into the ground.

    Advice to Management

    Clean house, just because someone's been there a long time doesn't mean they are good at their job. Replace higher level HR dept with people with compassion and ethics. Work on communications skills. Train the managers of entry level employees actually how to manage and conduct performance reviews.

    Pros

    You'll work with some really passionate and talented people. Benefits, such as free parking/bus passes, good opportunities for client contact, occasional travel, etc.

    Cons

    Inefficiency in delegation methods, unprofessional attitudes from senior level staff, little respect for capacity or schedule. Feedback is not given without forced and difficult conversation. Limited growth opportunities; high turnaround rate. Educational background is not considered qualification for salary increase.

    Advice to Management

    Really work with lower level associates to determine management changes, provide more opportunities for growth. Consider enforcing feedback policies, as reviews and goals are not always discussed nor given priority in an employee's work experience.

    • Nice cubes/work spaces and facilities • Most colleagues are friendly • Good benefits and perks (free metro passes, free parking passes)

    Cons

    • Unprofessional and incompetent managers in charge of entry level associates, especially in Public Affairs, GIS, and Regulatory departments • Some backstabbing senior consultants in Public Affairs, GIS, and Regulatory departments who have now problem leaving their subordinates out to dry • Gossipy HR department, especially in mid to upper levels of said department • Most satellite office managers and associates are...

    Advice to Management

    • Fire or demote most of your managers who are in charge of entry level associates • Demote or fire some of the senior consultants in Public Affairs, GIS, and Regulatory departments • Reward hard working entry level associates, especially those who clean up their managers' messes • Replace mid to upper level HR department members • Demote the president and replace him with someone who cares about the company

    Pros

    Most people are friendly, modern office spaces, the benefits are great, excellent and up-to-date technological tools and software, occasional travel to other areas of the country, CEO is a nice guy, enjoyable company outings, most principal level managers are quite capable

    Cons

    Expect to beg for a development plan, yearly performance review, or even feedback. Some managers are not advocates for their own employees. Office politics, some people will go behind your back and complain, rather that talking to the employee directly. Associate level employees trust very few senior level employees/management anymore.     Advice to Management

    Don't tell employees that they are on track for a promotion then fire them two months later, with no negative changes in the employees work performance over those months. Give every employee expectations and development plan when they start, not a year after they are hired. Replace the managers (who oversee entry level employees) with people who have people skills and management experience. Hold managers and...
