I have been working at Nautica Enterprises full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    - Starting to become more employee focused when it comes to development
    - Room for growth
    - Hourly pay (for all field teams in stores) which gives more work-life balance, but ALL managers must be held accountable
    - Employees beginning to be recognized more
    - Style is changing to cater to the new millennial demographic (better fits, and newer looks)
    - Not great pay, but decent

    Cons

    - Some negative field members who don't like change. Some are not understanding there's a new demographic that are buying right now. We all must adapt to the changes
    - Managers now hourly pay, but gives work-life balance
    - Heavy workload at times given by corporate offices, but managers must understand how to reprioritize when necessary. Again, we all MUST adapt...

    Advice to Management

Advice to all: This is retail and things are changing. New demographics, new style, new operational procedures. Yes, there may be times that there are heavy workloads that you THINK you can't complete... but tasks need to be prioritize and being able to adapt is part of the game. The "complainers" are the ones trying to take advantage of systems in place (I've worked with those before within the company). Have there been promotions based on who likes who and people brown nosing? Maybe. But that happens in every job in any industry. Self awareness and self management is key to your own growth. Do not get stuck in "I can't do that" mode because that's contagious and will ruin any team, any where, and in any business

I worked at Nautica Enterprises full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Discount on all VF Brands

    Cons

Lack of clear direction and leadership from upper management and direct managers. Does not value how hard design team works under incredibly tight deadlines and overwhelming work loads. Decisions seem very arbitrary and not well thought out or planned. Not supportive of design team at all. Managers need much better training on how to inspire, lead and communicate with their direct reports. Absolutely dead end with no room or incentive for advancement. I felt intentionally held back. HR is not to be trusted at all; extremely biased and dishonest.

    Advice to Management

Leadership is from the top down. Show less bias and favoritism. Value the incredibly hard work and long hours that the design team puts in.
