    Pros

pay is average, if you want to get paid a livable wage but do not care about actually being creative, getting treated well, or taken seriously, this is the place for you

    Cons

horrible supervisors that have no idea what they are doing, extremely poor direction, art directer will use his design team as a scapegoat for when he makes mistakes, terrible communication between leaders of the company and mid level employees, they hire freelance creative to execute all of the campaign shoots, ideas and suggestions from mid level staff are immediately shot down or taken by leaders and passed off as their own idea, no encouragement or growth opportunity, when employees are asked to stay to work late no dinner or rides home is offered, general treatment of employees in the office and overall attitude of people is very poor

    Pros

Discount for vf brands, 401k match is pretty good because of vf. I have to write 20 words for the pros for Glassdoor to let me complete the review and I’m really stretching it here

    Cons

Terrible incompetent management. It’s been said in review after review that senior management has no idea what they’re doing and rule by fear. Fired so many people the last couple of years it’s just a shell of its former self.

Sales has way too much power and constantly changes their mind according to the time of day

Hr is clueless, and does not care about the employees, only doing the bidding of sr management.

    Advice to Management

Revamp senior management and bring in some people who understand the business, had a strategy, and maybe even care about the people.

I worked at Nautica Enterprises full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Generally the people I worked with were great. I led a very talented and committed team. Work/Life balance was great

    Cons

There was too much favoritism and promoting of people who were not qualified to be in the roles they were in. Marketing department didn't have a clue, in terms of how to support the business and drive sales. Overall the brand is not set up for success from the corporate level.

    Advice to Management

Leadership was extremely lacking on many levels. No idea how to manage the complex business model. Wasted so much time trying to figure out who the customer was, because they didn't like the customer they had. Spend more time and effort appealing to the clients you have.

I worked at Nautica Enterprises full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Discount, benefits, vacation/pto time, and part time associate earn vacation after 1 year.

    Cons

This has to be one of the worst ran divisions of VF Corporation due to the poor Senior Management.
-Lack of training for the stores. If you want to learn and grow, you have to figure it out on your own cause there are no training materials and the SR. Leadership is clueless on company procedures. Senior Management says "we will get you training materieals" except they have been saying it every year with no action!
-Micromanaged every detail and managers by intimidation and threats of replacement.
-Wont let a sale run its course. Changes the sale signs and banners 3-5 times a week.
-Merchandising the stores is also very micromanaged and the company is requiring stores to remove product from the floors and keep limited product for the customers.
-Payroll has been cut so low that stores can barely function. Overtime is not allowed and the staff is always stressed and no longer enjoys their jobs.
    - Senior management expects a dog and pony show when anyone from corporates visits the stores. Senior Management is only worried about thier IMAGE and not the reality of real life day to day operations.
-Corporate is eliminating long tenured people and positions in hopes to save the company which is creating a lack of loyalty to the company.
-The culture is horrible and you get no praise or even a thank you from upper management. The only feedback you receive is NEGATIVE and why you are not making the numbers.

    Advice to Management

Take a serious look at the Senior Leadership running the company and how are they having an effect on the morale and development of the team in order to grow the business. Take pride in your people and train them rather than making them feel unappreciated and not contributing. The company used to be one of the best places to work but unfortunately this is no longer the case!
