"Heavy middle management, take advantage of strong resources and overwork them, can’t figure out how to scale"

Doesn't RecommendPositive OutlookNo opinion of CEOI worked at Nautilus Insurance full-time for more than 8 years
Pros
Good benefits Encourage health and wellness and volunteerism
Cons
So many key departments are extremely understaffed and so they put an unreasonable workload on their strongest resources. There are way too many managers and a lot of leadership is sexist. Leadership will take shortcuts and introduce workarounds, manual work and redundant systems instead of taking a little more time to do things the right way. The pay is low compared to the market and they won’t pony up money for good resources And so current resources suffer while they have backfill positions sitting open for months/years they can’t fill. It’s clear that that they don’t understand they need to kale some real changes to support the business in its current state. You can’t keep doing the same things for 30 years with resources and processes yet support a large book of business that keeps growing.

"Every person for themselves"

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookNo opinion of CEOI worked at Nautilus Insurance full-time for more than 5 years
Pros
Profit sharing, covered parking (must-have in AZ!), low insurance premiums.
Cons
A majority of the company does the bare minimum, just enough to keep management off their back and retain their jobs. Most are just coasting and collecting a paycheck. While there are a few good “leaders”, most are really just looking out for themselves and will do whatever they can to make themselves shine, even when it’s at the expense of others (including their own team). The technology is constantly having issues. They only focus on pumping out new “features” but then completely neglect to support the system when it’s live.

Doesn't RecommendNo opinion of CEOI worked at Nautilus Insurance full-time for more than 8 years
Pros
Location, covered parking and benefits. Some of the claims were interesting.
Cons
High turn over due to poor leadership and unreasonable expectations. The organization has too many senior level managers and not enough technical people to process the claims. The contributions went unappreciated.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookDisapproves of CEOI have been working at Nautilus Insurance full-time for more than 10 years
Pros
Great benefits, great profit share, good location and amazing facilities. This was once a great company with good leadership. That has changed. The Company has taken several steps backwards over the last few years with the company culture and leadership deteriorating.
Cons
Current leadership lacks vision and strategy. Some have their own agendas and actively works against each other. HR Leadership is unethical and lacks integrity.

Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookDisapproves of CEOI worked at Nautilus Insurance
Pros
Great location with covered parking
Cons
So many people are unhappy and looking for other places to work. They have lost seasoned talented underwriters who were there for so many years. Now we have no one to mentor the less experience which is why I left. Management are constantly stepping over each other. It's all about themselves not their team. You have some fighting for the CEO position when the current CEO retires, it's pathetic. Region mangers are useless. Its pretty sad that they are looking to hire millennium's who will only be there for less than 3 years but those are the ones they take care of.

"STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY - NO LEADERSHIP OR MANAGEMENT"

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookApproves of CEOI have been working at Nautilus Insurance full-time for more than 5 years
Pros
Once was a great company. Knowledgeable CEO however he needs to retire.
Cons
Dis-functional senior leadership team that routinely throw people under the bus to get what they want or to discredit one of their counterparts. Underwriting leadership is terrible with the lack of direction and accountability. Morale is very poor and many people are leaving and not being replaced. There are several openings for underwriters, assistants and a manager and they can't find anyone who come to work for Nautilus. Pay is below market therefore you get what you pay for. RVPs are puppets and do what agents want. They do not back their underwriters.

Pros
Nice Building and Covered Parking
Cons
Nautilus does not put their employees or customers first, they will do and say anything as long as it makes a profit. They are losing talented, good people and they aren't looking into why they are leaving.

Pros
I have LOVED working at Nautilus for the past few months. The culture and employee involvement is unlike any I've ever been a part of. Every person I've met here is welcoming, kind, and engaging. Upper management truly care about their employees and jump through many hoops to ensure the happiness of their team. There is no shortage of opportunities, and upward mobility is highly available. There are many learning initiatives, as well as a company gym, yoga classes, etc. Nautilus goes above and beyond in offering perks for employees. I am so happy to work here -- even on days when I wish I could stay home and do nothing, I am elated to know that I love my job and the people I work with.
Cons
None -- I am very pleased with the position I have here and the company as a whole.
