I have been working at Navajo Express full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

you see the entire lower 48. very good communication between driver and dispatcher. blue tree system very easy to use. nice trucks. people are talking about forced dispatch on here but that is not true. just dont refuse every load you get and make sure there is a legit reason you are refusing the load offered to you.

    Cons

not the highest paying on the otr side. com data is a pain in the butt. very little detention pay but you wont hardly ever be sitting unless its a 34 or home time. denver yard is a pain in the butt to check in and out of. preffered fuel stops.

    Advice to Management

500 is to much for the pet deposit. just take drivers last paycheck if the dog eats the truck. other then that no real complaints.

I worked at Navajo Express full-time

    Pros

Very hard working down to Earth lower level employees

    Cons

Upper Management gets the most out of you by putting you down. Worries more about making money than taking care of customers.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees like they are worth more than just making you more money. Take care of your customers and you will make your money in the long run.

I worked at Navajo Express full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent salary, not top of the line but certainly fair

    Cons

The owner's son runs the show now. He has a horrible temper, belittles and threatens. During morning meetings, he would frequently say that he knows he has a reputation for firing people for "little things" and followed it up by saying the reputation was correct, he'll fire everyone there and hire replacements and it doesn't matter. He would further follow that up with inviting his employees to go work for his competitors. He doesn't try to understand a situation before jumping to conclusions, you just have to hope you can put a reason out there before he utters the word "fired". I wouldn't recommend anyone work here.

    Advice to Management

Get Jr out of there. He will drag the company into the ground with him.

I worked at Navajo Express full-time

    Pros

    Can't think of anything.

    Cons

The senior leadership is simply not qualified to be in their positions. They are all extremely immature and combative, which has created a culture where everyone just fights, kicks, and screams. There is absolutely no level of respect when dealing with anyone. There is a level of fear throughout the organization that the owner's son will fire them at any waking moment, which has handicapped the entire company. Also, the technology is woefully behind, and there is no customer-first mentality.

    Advice to Management

Change the culture. Get some good leaders and there and let them lead.

    Pros

Lots of miles. Good starter company. Free coffee also a plus.

    Cons

Mafioso style management gets old fast. Drivers have to plan for the planners. Dispatchers are caught in the middle and terrified of upper management. This is typical of carriers these days.

    Advice to Management

You look stupid in that golf shirt..

    Pros

    Good pay and good hours.

    Cons

Even if you have sick time you can't take it because you will be told they worry about your dedication and end your employment.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees and understand that just because they get sick doesn't mean they don't care about their job.
