    Pros

Lots of technical experience. Because they are a multi hosting company, there's plenty of opportunity to learn and maintain various technologies.

    Cons

Political, management are spineless to corporate and don't back their employees. Pay and benefits are below market value.

    Advice to Management

I have been working at NaviSite full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The individual contributors are all very bright and very personable.

    Cons

Reconfigured cube environment is extremely difficult to work in. Lack of cohesive goals and strategy as well as disciplined approach prior to execution.

    Advice to Management

The open office concept has been proven to not be effective and especially not for certain roles. There's a lack of respect for personal space that needs to be addressed.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of employees who are bullies

I worked at NaviSite as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Exposure to new and current technologies.

    Cons

    - Professionalism is at a low level in this company.
    - Management allows people with known mental health issues to train new employees which is a recipe for disaster.
    - Favoritism appears to be rampant as well as sabotage of employees.
    - My supervisor was completely uninvolved with my progress and made it very clear from the beginning he had no interest in my work.
    - Lack of diversity - this company does not appear to hire any minorities other than Indian and even they were few.

    Advice to Management

Get more involved with individual teams and find out what's going on from an employee perspective.

    Pros

Great people that are really investing in making Navisite a great place to work.

    Cons

Senior Management and their lack of genuineness for the employees. Not enabling employees to be successful due to constant adding/changing of priorities and not de-prioritizing other projects in flight, which consistently adds to the workload and overall confusion of the organization. Not understanding how to integrate change into an organization: how that impacts employees, customers and overall employee morale. Immature senior management adds to lack of strong overall direction and execution.

    Advice to Management

Walk the talk. Espousing the mission, strategic direction and passion for employees seems phony and rehearsed when you see how people are treated and disregarded. Example: it is claimed in every meeting with senior management how Navisite is investing in their people and how much they value employees; however employees are really treated poorly, as individuals. Employees are expected to work relentlessly and are underpaid and not leveled correctly, with no intention of doing so. People that honestly work hard and dedicate themselves to Navisite when Navisite is unwilling to pay/level them appropriately.

    Pros

You can learn a few things about the Cloud business. Large parent company keeps benefits costs in check. Large parent company keeps company from having to survive on its own. Could be good gig if you live North-west of Boston and want to work locally. Apparently a better gig in the UK than in the USA. If you live close to an office of the parent (Charter), you can use that office for a desk and meetings if you want to.

    Cons

Corporate culture is an oligarchy which is sales-unfriendly and does not grasp the reality of meeting customer requirements.

    Pros

None. Remote work would have been a plus however they killed that with no notice, no formal notification and without regard for people's schedules.

    Cons

Terrible leadership - oppressive is probably the right word to use here.
Terrible strategy - assuming there is one. Sometimes I wonder.
Terrible culture - always playing the blame game. At this point people are just beaten down.

There seems to be little cohesive strategy coming from the top and zero leadership throughout the organization. Good people have either left or are thinking of leaving and given the number of opportunities in the region at truly innovative companies why wouldn't they.

The politics at play within the organization border on the worst I've ever seen and seem to generally drive the direction of the company. Speaking up with an alternative opinion is generally frowned upon and will eventually lead to payback down the road. The blame game is played here on a frequent basis. Somehow a new set of tools is going to save the day, I think not. Although, maybe they've abandoned that by now too.

    Advice to Management

Pack it up. Without wholesale changes to the leadership of the organization its hard to see things getting any better and with little to no value proposition, innovation or the ability to execute the large cloud providers will eventually eat your lunch.
