I have been working at Navigant (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The breath and depth of project
The learning experience in the pharma, biotech and medical device space
The people that you work with
    The exposure to clients
Work life balance for a consulting company is good

    Cons

Salary is low compared to similar firms
    The bonus is a joke
The culture has been lost, it use to be a great place to work but now it seems that management does not care about peoples career, goals and to retain them, really sad

    Advice to Management

I would take very seriously internal reviews and try to retain talent that is flying away

    - Company size
    - Exposure to senior leadership
    - Project diversity
    - Learning opportunities
    - Flexibility of work hours and places

    Cons

    - Compensation is not on par with boutique LS companies
    - Diverging cultures between different verticals of the company
    - Work life balance is not stable; sometimes very good and at times very unpredictable

Management should improve training opportunities for junior staff and encourage more collaboration between different practices. This collaboration should not only be focused on the D/MD level.

    Pros

Great mid-size consulting firm. Young co-workers and a good place to start your career in finance/consulting. Office is brand new and in a great location.

    Cons

Work environment is a bit cold. Everyone mostly keeps to themselves throughout the day. Office politics like everywhere can be tense.

    Advice to Management

Communication within project groups could be better.

I have been working at Navigant full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Really smart people, about half of whom are taking a pay cut to work on interesting projects and have a good work-life balance. These people are great to work with, smart, driven, and similar to those you'd see at another management consultancy.

    Cons

Pay is low compared to peer companies, low level employees are only incentivised to meet utilization targets, not do great work.

    Advice to Management

Restructure employee evaluation process. Provide more opportunities to do meaningful non billable work, and recognize good non billable work.
