I worked at Navigant full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Offices in nice buildings
Private offices for managers and above
Nice selection of treats for break
    Generous PTO
    Great leaders who are empathetic

    Cons

    On call 24/7
Responsive to clients regardless of impact on staff (as are MOST professional service firms)
Not a lot of opportunity in that staff are competing with management to sell the same services to the same potential clients
A complete focus on billable hours can cause some bad behavior by staff
All revenue generated by Associate Directors is allocated to the production of the supervising director (provides incentive for directors to NOT want to promote Associate Directors)

    Advice to Management

Better track revenue generation and track it at all levels

I worked at Navigant full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great experience with large payers doing a variety of different tasks.

    Strong opportunity for title advancement.

Decent bonus payout if billable hours are strong

    Cons

    Frequent requests for unplanned travel
Moderate pay compared to others in the industry
Times of plenty and times of drought with interesting jobs to be staffed on

I worked at Navigant as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Interesting work if you like the industry, great people and environment

    Cons

Subpar HR that is really bad at communicating, staffing issues

    Advice to Management

Should do a better job of planning for the long-term when making decisions

    I worked at Navigant full-time

    Pros

Flexible work hours and a great CEO make for a great combination. Work was both challenging and interesting.

    Cons

Long working hours sometimes but that is the nature of the job I was doing so I wouldn't necessarily say it was particular to this company.

I worked at Navigant full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Strong female senior leadership which I found to be rare in corporate America and even rarer in consulting. Enjoyed my time there.

    Cons

No cons really other than lack of racial diversity among senior leadership. But that’s consulting for you. May have been limited to health care sector.

I have been working at Navigant full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Exposure to clients, projects range from working independently to teamwork, learning opportunities, work direct with MDs and Ds

    Cons

Work/Life balance can be volatile, many projects at once (10+)

I have been working at Navigant full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great people
    Plenty of work

I really enjoyed the culture and the people at Navigant. Only of the most welcoming communities and still feels like a small firm despite large growth (at least in the Healthcare department). Definitely feel like the firm is on the up.

    Cons

    Learning / development
    Compensation

Still don't pay as competitively (but not bad) as some other top consulting firms and the learning/development process is still developing. Need to offer more/better training if they want to keep employees and hire top candidates.

    Advice to Management

Invest in training young employees as the company grows from a boutique firm to a large, horizontal focused consulting company
