I have been working at Navigant full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

New location at 150 N. Riverside Plaza.

Good Culture - fun, young people.

Actively hiring people right now - looking to expand the healthcare consulting practice substantially.

    Cons

Pay seems to be lower than average for Management Consulting.

Navigant is public, lots of politics.

A lot of people have a "grind until you burn out mentality"

    Advice to Management

    Increase compensation standards.

    Merit-based recognition

    Cons

If it's your first job, you have to, "put in your time," in the trenches

I worked at Navigant full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Operates as a big 5 consulting firm

    Cons

Like most consulting firms, life balance is difficult

I worked at Navigant full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good co-workers; interesting and changing work assignments. Job allows for reasonable amount of autonomy. Company has a good reputation in the industry.

    Cons

Management is not good at communicating across project teams to manage consultant's commitments. Compensation incentives for higher level personnel is not transparent which makes understanding motives for decision making murky.

I worked at Navigant as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

The internship program is great in terms of giving you fun activities to do and helping you get to know the company. However, the level of responsibility it fairly low and you end up not really learning a ton. The people are great and the compensation is solid however.

    Cons

This is specifically within Disputes and Investigations, but some of the work depending on sub-practice is very tedious work, and it's also hard to move around sub-practices - you get locked in to one for at least 1-2 years.

    Advice to Management

They should make it easier to move between sub-practices and tell you which sub-practice you will be hired into at the end of your internship. There are certain sub-practices that I was not interested in at all and others I was very interested in.

There are many opportunities for growth both outside and inside the firm.

    Cons

    Don't know enough to say

    Advice to Management

No advice that I can think of. Again, just recently got an offer.

    Pros

    - Company size
    - Exposure to senior leadership
    - Project diversity
    - Learning opportunities
    - Flexibility of work hours and places

    Cons

    - Compensation is not on par with boutique LS companies
    - Diverging cultures between different verticals of the company
    - Work life balance is not stable; sometimes very good and at times very unpredictable

    Advice to Management

Management should improve training opportunities for junior staff and encourage more collaboration between different practices. This collaboration should not only be focused on the D/MD level.
