    Pros

    Smart people. Not much else.

    Cons

    You have no control over projects / directors. Senior leadership is poor. Toxic culture starts at the top.

    Be honest.

    I have been working at Navigant full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    The salary was great, they basically overpay people to do menial tasks and use their compensation as the only way to keep them in a miserable existence.

    Cons

    Honestly this is the worst place I have ever worked, or heard of anyone else working. It all depends on your practice area, but the entire financial branch and all practices within it are an absolute nightmare.

    Senior management cares only about client satisfaction and have dismal retention rates, people are ALWAYS quitting. In order to succeed be aware that you will be playing the political game to your very last breath, those that are promoted quickly are willing to trod on others to make their way. In terms of culture, there is none. You will be screamed at, abused, called names, asked to work 80+ hours, to cancel vacations to work, work every weekend, and nobody will care when your health fails because of it. They utilize a TON of contractors and the projects are meaningless and do not change.

    It isn't a consulting firm, you will gain no real skills, it's a temp agency. The work is mind numbing and you have to be in with one or two of the "right" people to get any responsibility. Don't waste your time with a full time position here, at least the contractors make overtime. Every single project is a constant fire drill, and don't expect training or professional development as there is "no time" for such things.

    Advice to Management

    Try listening to your employees and giving at least 10-20% of your effort to employee satisfaction. Yes, clients are important in consulting, but at the end of the day you need people to do the work.

    Nice branding and some forward thinking on go to market strategies

    A political stew with self serving, disinterested practice leadership residing over a clique-fest.

    Pros

    Navigant is more or less a "flat" organization. For exceptionally driven individuals, opportunities to make an impact exist if such individuals have the patience to address some of the organizational shortcomings. At the Senior Consultant/Managing Consultant level, many folks have Big 4 experience who cashed in their time there for a decent pay with Navigant. Depending on the project, there is a level of work/life balance as well.

    Cons

    Lack of an effective sales force translates into a highly "opportunistic" pipeline, meaning staff-augmentation work, as opposed to Navigant-driven solution engagements. Perhaps a better name for the firm would be Navigant Staffing.

    Advice to Management

    Reward talent and production; purge non-performers.
