Reviews about "work environment"
Return to all Reviews- Current Employee, less than 1 year★★★★★
My current employer is Navigant and I work in the finance department.
RecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
There are a lot of new employees that have the right mindset to improve the culture and environment at Navigant. It will take a LOT of time.
Cons
Employee morale is low; they are overworked/overutilized and there is extremely high turnover, including within the senior leadership team. Employees are mistreated, called out in front of other people during meetings. There is a tone across the organization creating a negative work environment that most human beings cannot stay in for the long term.

Worthy place but horrendous culture as lack of communication and cohesiveness is a huge downside
RecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Very diverse environment and a wide variety of unique individuals to work with
Cons
At early levels, get zero say in anything. Cannot pick projects to work, and senior management basically ignores anyone below the Management Consultant level (which is sort of insulting)

Pros
Interesting and challenging client assignments. Opportunity to work with very smart individuals who are willing to share their knowledge and establish and collaborative team environment. Colleagues create a sense of community in and out of the workplace. Healthy work-life balance. Salary is decent if you negotiate well when entering the company
Cons
Non-uniform standards for performance and quality. Multiple practices within the firm conducting the same type of work thus competing for client engagements with your colleagues. Direct leadership can be a bit dictatorial in their approach to subordinates. No steady pipeline of projects to keep consultants billable and utilized.

Pros
Good environment to work as a team.
Cons
Monitoring login hours does not yield dedication at work.

Pros
Great work like balance if you made your director aware of any overworked challenges. Good environment to work in to enhance certain professional skills due to the amount of budget dedicated to resources.
Cons
The organization only seems to cater to consultants in terms of professional development. There is not a clear roadmap in terms of career path for individuals not in a consulting role.

Pros
Young work environment. Good culture. Decent benefits packages. Offices in every major city. Recruits from good schools. Flat management structure.
Cons
Disparity in opportunity and compensation amongst practice areas. Lack of transparency. Bad sharing of knowledge between practice areas. Lack of teamwork at higher levels.

Cons
-Could use better and more experienced managers. -Could do better due diligence during the hiring process to find the right employees for the job -Top management needs restructuring in order to secure the future of the company in the Canadian market.

Pros
Company outings and pay is fairly good.
Cons
Too much drama very cut throat and heartless. A very toxic environment to work in if you're not liked you will be outed without a true explanation.

Pros
You will be exposed to a a larger corporate institution which will be useful for future endeavors. You will also develop good technical skills that will be attractive for when you decide to work for a better firm.
Cons
Very regimented, bottom line corporate culture. You are a number in a pool of workers. Promotions do not come from hard work, but more when they decide to call your number. Rather quiet and uninviting work environment. And finally, a huge communication gap between consultants and directors. You are more looked at as property than a hard worker. As I said in the title, this is a good place to start your career, but don't stay here too long, there are plenty of better companies out there that truly value your hard work and will reward you for it.
