-Complete lack of culture or feeling of belonging

    Advice to Management

Really need to take a look at that layer of middle management that is holding people back from doing their best and not encouraging employees to help.

I have been working at Navistar full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I work with some great people including my Manager. I can't say that is true for the entire company.

    Cons

HR is worthless. There are no training opportunities. Corporate in Lisle is treated like royalty while other locations are treated like sweat shops. The productivity at Lisle is abysmal, productivity at other locations is above average. There is monthly celebrations at lisle for turn around and the other facilities are under budget constraints. Health benefits are spiraling down.

    Advice to Management

Wake up and realize who is putting in the extra effort for this turn around. Get rid of some of the dead wood middle managers who are waiting to retire. Give some fair raises, 3% over two years is not a fair raise. You will continue to loose good people and only retain employees who can't get jobs elsewhere.

I have been working at Navistar full-time

    Pros

I have been with the company over 7 years. It's a great company to work for, but as with any large company there is to much fat up top.
If they can get back in the US market and turnaround the bad rap on the engines, it will mean something to our customers.

    Cons

Too many former GM and Ford management team members. I am not impressed with the fact that they continue to hire (friends) from companies that have failed and are put in key roles in the company.

    Advice to Management

    Cut the fat!

I worked at Navistar full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent pay, cafeteria, gym, and other amenities on-site.

    Cons

Many managers are micro-managers, no clear direction (constantly changing), annual layoffs.

    Advice to Management

Set a clear directive and let the workers do work!
