I have been working at Navistar full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Surrounded by very intelligent people - for the most part. Work life balance is good, if you are able to stay on track. Easy to get noticed by upper management. Due to previous 'conditions', management is always on the lookout for people who they can count on; you will get plenty of opportunities early on.

    Cons

Attitudes of some workers just WILL NOT improve. Everyone in the company is familiar with the situation and the impact it's had on the business. Few employees maintain this piss-poor attitude and try to rub their negativity off on others—get over it, this gets us no where.

    Advice to Management

Keep on doing what your doing. A higher level review of the long time employees could do a world of good. Get rid of those damn dark clouds they continue to fuel.

    Pros

Navistar is a great place to work. Company is very concerned over employee morale and welfare. Good business practices, and they compensate employees very fairly.

    Cons

Company does go through some up and down times in the market and has lay-offs.

    Advice to Management

Hang on to your valuable employees, even if they are highly compensated.

I have been working at Navistar full-time

    Pros

Attention to work life balance, company culture and employee growth. Competitive salary and annual incentives. Great benefits, facilities and amenities.

    Cons

Lots of emphasis lately is put on growth only if an employee has a degree. Employees cannot move past certain level without advanced education. Feeling is that this is a way to weed out older employees.

    Advice to Management

Be more upfront and honest. Continue to focus on being open with employees and on company culture. Develop management training programs for employees earlier in thier career.
