I have been working at Navistar full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

People are great and fun. Campus is nice. Challenging environment. Great experience. Indoor parking. Cafeteria with good food. Fitness center.

    Cons

Can be tough to deal with customer complaints, but with the right attitude it's for the better. The technology is lacking a bit.

    Advice to Management

Look farther forward and not quarter to quarter or month to month. Need to focus on energy on more long term growth

I have been working at Navistar full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Union contract provides for overtime after 8 hours as well as a reasonable amount of holidays. Another benefit of the union contract is that it prevents some of the favoritism in cases of overtime and discipline.

    Cons

Although the pay is decent to start 10 years down the road and you still make what people coming off the street make. This is a recipe for bad moral as well as plain bad performance among employees. Remember if your employer does not care about you it is most likely your employees won't care either.

    Advice to Management

Well first management could care less about any advice employees have. Currently pay is at the bottom when compared to competitors. Don't expect to get talented employees who care when during negotiations you tell your employees that they plain are not worth the money. No surprise there is a constant now hiring with a revolving door for hourly and management employees as well.

    Pros

The company provides for growth opportunity and challenges. Exposure to the variety of vehicles produced by the company.

    Cons

Too many layers of management prohibit quick decision and accountability. The application of cross functional teams also lent itself to accountability questions and indecision.

    Advice to Management

    See above.

    Pros

Great campus and great people to work with before things started getting bad.

    Cons

Continue to overload people and cut lower positions than cut the overhead or have them take paycuts. Your ratings on reviews don't mean anything. It is about who you know.

    Advice to Management

Have management take pay cuts to avoid more lay-offs.
