    Pros

good people in the warehouse. hard working and enjoyable atmospheare

    Cons

management trying to re-brand this 100 year old company. not interested in learning the actual college textbook business. try to compete w/ Amazon. too many temp associates who don't care

    Advice to Management

learn the used book business and listen to the loyal tenure employees and college bookstore staff on needs.

    Pros

Good place to get your feet wet in technology and to get a quick education. A lot will be thrown at you so be ready to learn. At times can be fast pace depending on what you are doing.

    Cons

There is an uneasy feeling to the place with all the recent lay offs and what seems to be a shrinking market and rising competition. As with any place get everything and anything in writing.

    Advice to Management

Be good to your people and follow through on the good as much as the bad.

    Pros

Depending on which building you work in the people are great. They are trying to make something work.

    Cons

The company is on life support. Good luck to those still there on getting raises or any advancement. There is a real fear of losing your job on a day to day basis. Especially when they call a mandatory company wide meeting an hour prior.

I worked at Nebraska Book full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fun people and trying to make it a fun environment.

    Cons

Shady business going on there. Very "old school" with old-traditional thinking and a good 'ol boys club. When issues arise they easily point fingers and find a scapegoat. No real promotional opportunities or training

    Advice to Management

Support what you say you believe in. You're a college company yet you don't have tuition reimbursement and don't offer up training to grow and learn in the company.

    Pros

The people or at least the people who have been here 10 plus years.

    Cons

Management, Long and short term planning,

    Advice to Management

Know the industry before attempting to solve any problems. Promote from within, not from outside in key roles that deal face to face with the customers.
