      Pros

      Lots of variety as you never knew what changes might be around the corner. People were friendly.

      Cons

      Leadership was always changing direction. College bookstore environment is rapidly changing and people were constantly worrying that the company would go out of business.

      Leadership needs to communicate better amongst the different departments and be on the same page regarding company strategy and future.

      Unstable time with a lot of transitions and changes. Went through bankruptcy, department moved to IL, sold stores to cometitor

      Pros

      Insurance benefits. Challenging and kept busy most days

      Cons

      They advertised job as full time, then cut it back to 30 hours immediately. Constant cuts to payroll. No raise unless store sales increase. Company was falling apart with off campus stores. Brick and mortar textbook retailer that was going under, and a company trying to sell off its retail operations.

      As the industry changed, management made some tough choices. But in the end experienced employees were let go: which were their greatest assets.

      The company is putting a lot of effort in becoming a very friendly and family oriented place to work. They've had some rough times in the past, with reorganizing and layoffs to keep the company moving forward, Now they seem to be concentrating on making it an enjoyable and friendly place to work, which also understands that everyone has family matters that are important.
