I have been working at Neenah Paper full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good Pay due to union negotiations.

    Cons

Terrible Benefits. Inconsiderate Scheduling. 12 hour shifts 6-7 days a week.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to schedule business more efficiently so the workers do not have to set up cots in the locker rooms.

I worked at Neenah Paper full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great co-workers and good benefits (health/life insurance, 401k, vacation, sick time, etc).

    Cons

Under-compensated for work, employees are over-worked and had to stay for overtime close to everyday. Duties and responsibilities not evenly and properly assigned, resulting to one employee doing 5 person's job. Employees do not feel valued or appreciated, bad culture and toxic environment. Employee morale extremely low, HR oblivious thinking that things are getting better, yet employees are leaving left and right.

    Advice to Management

When employees identified a problem, try to find a solution rather than 'pushing back.' Do not deny that there are actually problems going on with the work process and give false reports to your 'boss' that everything is going very well.

I have been working at Neenah Paper full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Lots of opportunities for professional growth, a leadership team who is incredibly supportive, a solid startagy for growth in a declining industry.

    Cons

Industry challenges (not Neenah's fault), but leadership has a strategy for overcoming (and it's working).

    Advice to Management

None. They're doing a great job leading Neenah and rewarding shareholders.

I have been working at Neenah Paper full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good pay and benefits. 401k, long term and short term disability.

    Cons

Mandatory 6 days a week. Long time employees don't always treat newer people with respect.

    Advice to Management

Management is good, but too many people that have been there for 25 plus years are very mean to newer employees.

    Pros

Checks clear. The building has a roof and heat. There is a lot of management to tell you what to do and how to do it

    Cons

No training, surprise 16 hour shifts, you have to work nearly every weekend.

I worked at Neenah Paper full-time

    Pros

Good pay, excellent benefits, lots of opportunity for overtime

    Cons

You can't trust anyone, lots of "clicks", shady politics going on in the salaried positions, VERY poor training, people are fired with no explanation, it is a difficult place for women to work because of certain men

    Advice to Management

Don't believe everything you hear about new hires at union meetings - they aren't there to defend themselves...
FIX your training program! It is TERRIBLE! Some people are "training" others that aren't even fully trained themselves! There is no structure or set plans in training. It is pitiful.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Neenah Paper full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The company is open with employees about the future of the business and what they are doing to continue being successful. The company is also inclusive when it comes to involving employees in how to achieve company goals. The compensation package is pretty good. The company is VERY concerned with operating a safe mill.

    Cons

Training could be improved at the mill level. Employees spend a lot of time at work, so employee time off should be considered more valuable. (When a worker is scheduled to get a weekend off only once every six weeks, every effort should be made to allow that worker the time off and not take the time away because they are needed at the mill.)

    Advice to Management

Continue to do what you're doing. Instead of using money as incentives, the company could consider offering paid time off to reward employees for achieving goals.

I have been working at Neenah Paper full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Strong Financial performance, great vision, open communication of desired strategy, invests in employees, great benefits

    Cons

Corporate HQ is in Alpharetta GA, so limited visibility to leadership team, tend to load up the high performers with heavy workload, tend to look for outside talent in GA vs. promote from Fox Valley area

    Advice to Management

Could utilize spot reward program for peak performers more often, clips coming out of the sales meeting were great, potential to add a monthly video clip to the intranet
