I worked at Neighbor to Family full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Mr. Johnson, NTF CEO, brought to life a vision and necessary platform for our society's social environment! Keeping sibling groups together is an unparalleled conception.

    Cons

Management abuses authority, documentation and licensing of Professional Foster Care Givers is not held to required accredidation. The disparity between employees (internal), DFCS (social service agencies), children placed in the agencies care, and external employees (Foster Care Givers) is so vast, incongruous and illicit, downfall is inevitable.

    Advice to Management

Ensure ALL employees have access to necessary training as well as team-building. Follow up on grievances and input contingency plans if available. Follow-up with children's, families, staff, and supporting agency's grievances. Incorporate grants, funding to all county NTF locations. Allow outcome measures from all acredidation falculties to be a source for imporvement and recognition.

    Pros

You get to help kids in foster care; very rewarding

    Cons

Only one person makes all the decisions regarding what happens with the "mom and pop shop"....A new way of leadership is needed.

    Advice to Management

    Stop repeating past mistakes

I worked at Neighbor to Family full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Non profit with positive-sounding mission. Lots of PTO offered. Many lower-level employees with kind hearts.

    Cons

Consistent dire straits, furloughs. Below-average pay for job duties, but high workload expectations. Very small company, no room for advancement. Management does not respect federal law, nor the company's own HR policies, and will pressure to bend rules "for the kids". Unprofessional behavior allowed from middle managers by upper level management.

    Advice to Management

Many of the problems this company faces come directly from unethical management practices. My advice to you, as a potential employee, is to avoid working here if possible.

    Advice to Management

    None

I worked at Neighbor to Family full-time

    Pros

Attempt to help vulnerable children. Own personal office, clean office. Nice admin staff in other building.

    Cons

No support services (transporters, family support workers) for an intensive type of case work with large sibling groups. Cases all over instead of localized to an area. Poor training and lack of supervisor support - just micromanaging and constant criticism. Bimonthly pay.

    Advice to Management

Need more support services for daily work. Train more thoroughly employees (not just online videos). Respect employees and thier case load- be realistic!

The only thing that I find to be a problem is, payroll we get payed onces a month.

    Advice to Management
