I worked at Nelnet full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Tons of opportunity for advancement, bonuses, and paid time off. Very good work life balance and scheduling.

    Cons

Constant change in lower direct management and constant team changes meant less consistency. Pay is low if you don't work weekends or achieve high scores.

    Advice to Management

Your employees are your best asset and the face of your company, continue to treat them well.

    I worked at Nelnet full-time

    Pros

Good progressive management philosophy, good work culture, pay, benefits. It's a very good place to work. Strong focus on good ethics, customer service, work place fairness. Flexibility for work hours.

    Cons

Nelnet management tries to do the right things for customers, employees, and business partners. No real cons.

    Advice to Management

They already know this but they need to spend more on Business Development. They also tend to keep Senior Management around longer than they should - they need some new kinds of people in upper management instead of IT and Finance types, if possible. However, those two components are the biggest drivers. Sr. Management is usually right on target about opportunities, business partnerships, and analysis.
