    Pros

The people - most people are honest, courteous and just wanting to make a decent living . Free Drinks ... that’s about it

    Cons

    1. Let’s start with the pay at 16$/hr for a Federal Contract . You are taking back to back calls ALL Day , getting screamed at and managing millions of dollars of debt for people and you’re barely making over minimum wage . It’s not not worth it - this position is severely UNDERPAID . A single person living in Colorado would be homeless working at Nelnet. 2. The scheduling - the shifts they offer are trash and not sustainable for a normal work/life balance ... I worked 10 hr days with a 30 minute lunch and get verbal warnings for going 6 minutes over break times. 3. The attendance /adherence policy . They say it’s lenient and you basically get 9 “occurrences” in a 60 day rolling period sounds great right ? Wrong. They give out “occurrences “ like candy if you're over 5 and 6 minutes out of adherence. It’s basically like a sweat shop. 4. The bathrooms - they are filthy . I found myself going to surrounding buildings during my short breaks ... 5. Management gets away with missing weeks at a time yet you are expected to be there. And last I did not appreciate temps getting paid more for less health benefits. It’s a billion dollar industry Pay your employees. Why did I take this job you say ? That’s a great question I really saw potential they people were really Enticing, they had good benefits, health incentives and quarterly bonuses , they also made it seem like they were going to start providing employees with free education which would have been a great trade off for the low pay but once that never came to fruition I had to part ways. Thank you Nelnet but no thanks.

    Could be better

    Pros

Laid Back No Micromanaging Lots of PTO

    Cons

Low pay Only an HSA option for insurance, and to get money compensated into the HSA account, you have to track points to get a little money back. Most companies just fill it up the account for you since it is part of the benefits. Terrible raises that are way under the rate of inflation, even though the company is having a great year. Technology is sluggish to get updated for fear of breaking things.
