I worked at Nelson Staffing full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I really did enjoy my time here. There were some great people that I worked with. I would still be working there but for personal reasons I had to relocate to another state.

I was able to learn a lot about the recruiting world and it really got my foot in the door to this industry.

    Cons

The management was wonderful just not always available. Since they were so good at what they did they were tasked with so many side projects or given new responsibilities that they were not always readily available if you needed them.

    Advice to Management

Give the managers a break, rather than piling on more and more on them let them have some time to focus on their team so they do not feel neglected or ignored.

I have been working at Nelson Staffing full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great company- It is a team focused environment where we have an opportunity to change people's lives all of the time. Great opportunity to learn the staffing industry- Nelson promotes from within. We work very hard in a very fast environment but the Nelson culture is family first and making sure we take some time to have fun as well.

    Cons

Nelson has treated me very well- our dependent medical coverage is expensive but medical insurance is expensive everywhere

I have been working at Nelson Staffing (Less than a year)

    Pros

Smooth sailing with pay and deposits . Recruiter on constant stand by just to check in and see if you have any concerns or doubts.

    Cons

Short term notice for immediate start. Difficult to use your CA sick pay they question your time off to the point were they don't give it to you, free day DENIED.

    Advice to Management

Make jobs a priority to those that have completed assignments successfully. After one assignment is finished another should be assigned. This makes employees seek jobs with other agencies.

    Pros

They found a decent paying job close to my home that lasted for months. I received over-time and some health-care.

    Cons

Poor communication, strange interactions between the contracting agency and the business.
Despite glowing reviews from my supervisor at the agency and at the firm I worked for, they failed to contact me at the other office I'd attempted to transfer to after moving. This continued for months despite multiple attempts to contact the office and my previous supervisor.
