    Pros

The coworkers, you will quickly bond and become friends with most because you will realize that you're all stuck in it together and going through the same stuff. Some of the managers/supervisors have your best interest and well being in mind, but this is limited to a few and you will quickly learn which ones they are. Chance to gain some quick experience and leave for a better job.

    Cons

Almost too many to name. Pay is absurdly low for what they expect from you and what you should be payed. Upper management is delusional about what's going on around them. Turnover rate is so high you won't know some of your coworkers for more than a couple months. No communication or clear direction from management, you'll just be left feeling confused and frustrated. If you perform well at your job, you'll just be overworked and under appreciated/compensated. No room for advancement, most of the position changes are given to favorites. Complaints about work problems and issues within the company just fall on deaf ears as management just doesn't want to take suggestions or advice to help fix things.

    Advice to Management

Communicate and listen to your employees instead of assuming you're always right. Appreciate the people below you instead of treating them like another piece of equipment.

    Pros

Amazing people work at Neogen - friendly, hardworking and fun. A mission & products you can feel good about (food & animal safety). Company is growing fast. Numerous female managers.

    Cons

Lower compensation than average for some entry level positions but opportunities to move up & great benefit package.

    Advice to Management

Consider more flexible work arrangements, employee profit sharing and additional PTO to make Neogen an even better place to work.

    Pros

Making great acquisitions in food safety industry. Great people but hire young with no experience and do not mentor them properly. Need to develop people but pay is poor so get people who are still figuring out what they want to be when they grow up. They end up leaving or company fails sales goals because they don't know how to develop people.

    Cons

Slow to keep up with all their markets. Want direct vs distribution??? Why..who does this today in biz world when you are a manufacturer? Foreign mkts yes but U.S. no??? Why?

    Advice to Management

Trust your tenured sales force. Become a sales organization not a marketing organization.

Good place to learn and gain some industry experience. Awesome coworkers, supportive supervisors

    Cons

pay is not good compared to the experience that they want, slow at the start to get working

    Advice to Management

Pay should be comparable to the experience that is required to get the job.

    Pros

Good place to get some experience and move on. Nearly impossible to get fired. Great place for slackers to be employed but if you are a motivated person who wants to move up the ladder, this is not the place for you.

    Cons

Promotions are based upon the buddy system. Experience means nothing at this company. Managers are sub-par and inexperienced. Company rife with nepotism. Get your 3 to 5 years of beginning experience here and move to a more competent company. Try to get hired by a more competent company first though, you will learn more if you do, unless you enjoy the life of a slacker, then you would be a great fit.

    Pros

Only good for resume building. A good first job straight out of college but it's a springboard..
.no one stays longer than 2 years.
    Good people

    Cons

Pay is much lower than industry average
Everyone argues that the benefits aren't that great, no sick time only pto.
Had a chemical spill that was poorly handeled.
Poor managers-they're scientists, not managers and have no training.

    Advice to Management

Train the people you put into management team positions. When employees are so pissed off at their boss that their work suffers you have a problem.

    Pros

If you are a managers "favorite" you will get lots of opportunities. Great People! Coworkers are amazing.

    Cons

Pay. No respect. Ideas are never heard and when they are, they are usually stolen and passed off as your managers.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your employees.

    Pros

The Benefits, 401k, stock, pto (although they could dish more), company events like picnics, family events and promotional events like the sparrow health days and Red Cross blood donations

    Cons

Management is terrible and you get treated like you don't know anything, they don't train anyone properly, the pay sucks, not enough promotion or pay upgrades available...it's like a family plan they only push the people they like into promotions and they have wayyyy to much overtime and not enough time with family

    Advice to Management

Take a management class and treat everyone how you deserve to be treated

    Pros

Great People and a good work environment. Neogen was full of friendly and smart people. I need more words to fill the limit.

    Cons

Safety was an issue. Lansing is also not a very fun town. The facilities are quite old and need fixing up. Pink Floyd is one of my top 5 favorite bands
