I have been working at Nespresso full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work-life balance is great, just communicate with your upper management on when you need time off and they do their best to accommodate! Pay is nice, with compensated public transit monthly pass (full time), health benefits are really second to none, uniforms get dry cleaned for you, and the people you meet within and outside the company is a great way to create a strong network

    Cons

Holidays get very busy, that's really the only thing I can think of

I have been working at Nespresso full-time

    Pros

Free coffee machine and quarterly store credits

    Cons

Pay, management, no work life balance what so ever. Management is a complete joke and have absolutely NO interest or care into your personal growth in the company. Favoritism and nepotism are the only ways to move up in this company. Do not waste your time applying for a position within the Boutiques and call center. You can try for the corp offices but like I said if you dont have connections you wont get hired. They open positions online to act like they're looking to hire but they're not interested as they already know and have the person they want in the position. They just try to save face

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the managers in the call center. Get rid of the old upper-management as they are extremely disconnected to the real life experiences of their employees

I have been working at Nespresso part-time

    Pros

You get two free machines every year of employment! Awesome discounts on coffee sleeves and accessories. You gain so much knowledge on coffee! If you love coffee, you will enjoy talking about it.

    Cons

Poor management, at least at the San Francisco Boutique Bar! The management team is really unfair among the employees. They don’t appreciate you enough. They’re too focused on the sales numbers and always off the floor when managers are needed. Communication among team is so poorly organized. Everyone works at least 4-5 days a week. I’m a full time college student doing part time 20 here at Nespresso and I feel like I have no time for myself! If I’m not at school I’m at work. They’re so strict about scheduling! They’re so difficult when you try to ask for a specific days off. Majority of the time they deny it.

    Advice to Management

Do a better job at managing.

    Pros

Starting pay is competitive, full medical benefits.

    Cons

Incompetent management. Lack of support and training. Favoritism towards certain employees.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to be friends and do not get too familiar with subordinates with petty gossip. Learn to behave appropriately.

I worked at Nespresso full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    * Baristas in "the real world" aren't compensated anywhere close to as well as Nespresso baristas are (salary, benefits, 401K package) . I've worked for privately-owned cafes and '"the green siren", compensation just isn't a contest!

    * Nespresso is a Swiss luxury brand, so a position for the company is the beginning of a career in luxury retail.

    * Nespresso has a small US presence, so making a positive impression with quality work and a reputation for being a pleasure to work with is a ticket to fast promotion.

    Cons

    * Nespresso is a Swiss luxury brand. Read: Swiss. The hiring process moves at a glacial pace, baristas could be interviewed by the Regional Manager as well as the Head of HR versus just the store manager, like many coffee corporations.

    Advice to Management

    * Keep up the great work!

I worked at Nespresso part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The only positive aspect of Nespresso is their benefits. They have generous benefits.

    Cons

Nespresso cares very little about their employees. They constantly push their employees to sell at any cost. For example, where I worked, we were pressured to sell as many machines as possible. If we didn't meet goals, we were shamed. There was no incentive to sell, though, because the store was inside a Macy's, and the Macy's associates received commission for our hard work. Most of all, Nespresso does not care about woman. I was sexually harassed by the assistant manager, and when I reported it to my manager she accused me of lying and said it was "time to move on."

    Advice to Management

Improve the culture. Nespresso's culture is so toxic, I was forced to leave.
