I have been working at Nespresso (More than 5 years)

    Pros

-The coffee is fantastic. Customers are dedicated to the product so it is easy and fun to sell. I have had my own machine for over 5 years, so I can attest to the quality.
-Sustainability is a driving force for the company. Not only are capsules recyclable, but the amount of resources given to our farmers around the world is inspiring. It makes me feel proud to work for a company that cares for the farmers, since the coffee would not be a possibility without them.
-Nespresso provides great benefits, 401(k), PTO, Quarterly Bonuses related to performance, and quarterly allotment for coffee.
-As far as retail goes, it would be hard to find a company that takes such great care of its employees.
-Nespresso strives to invest in its employees. I recently was given the opportunity to take part in a Sustainability Leadership Conference. This program provides sustainability education at NYU, followed by a trip to Costa Rica to work on one of the farms where we source the coffee.
-Growing company, so their is plenty of opportunity for growth.

    Cons

-Customer service is a high priority. You are expected to provide superior service to every customer, which can be tough to maintain, especially on long weekends and over the holidays.
-Working at the tasting bar or register requires a lot of talking and you are on your feet all day.
-Boutiques use a software called Nessoft, which is an outdated system for most employees and not very user friendly. It can take some time to get used to.
-While there is a lot of opportunity for growth, I have often felt in the past that Nespresso could do a better job promoting existing employees for managerial positions. Luckily, I have seen a lot of improvement in this area, which is excellent because so many Nespresso employees are great ambassadors of the product and deserve to be recognized.

    I worked at Nespresso full-time

    Pros

There are some pros working for Nespresso, mainly attributed to the benefits that come from working for a large corporation. (Company car being the main one)
There is a focus on education, training, etc that can improve your overall skills.

    Cons

The hierarchy mentality is very off-putting.
There is very little transparency, although there claims to be.
For being a sales organization, there is shockingly low visibility into what your numbers are, therefore sales people tend to lack trust in the numbers.
Although there is so much emphasis placed on performance goals and planning for future roles, there is little proof that the organization actually acts on this by promoting within.
It is very unorganized, lacks direction and the majority of the time, you find yourself just spinning your wheels.

    Advice to Management

Transparency is necessary in order for employees to have trust.
Stop perpetuating the mentality that 'mancom' is royalty and everyone else is just there to make them look good.
If you want loyal employees, there has to be a sense of direction and purpose, but the reality of this company is; you are expected to grind away at sales (despite all the barriers in place), hope you make your numbers (without any visibility) and stress about your job security. Employees feel disposable.

I worked at Nespresso full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nespresso is a great company to work for. I made the mistake of resigning and regret it wholeheartedly. Wish I had never done it. Nespresso cares deeply about its employees and the sustainability of the product and farmers. There is no limit to the future of the company. Wish I could return...:(

    Cons

With every changing company, sometimes the changes outrun the pace of the processes being put into place. Therefore, there can be some confusion during the implementation.

    Advice to Management

Keep looking forward. There is no limit!!

Extensive training for the 25 Grand Crus

    Cons

Kronos system, if you couldn't make it to work due to being sick or a circumstance a point would be against you and if accumulated enough, you could be terminated
