I have been working at Nestlé Purina full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I absolutely love coming to work for NPPC everyday. The culture is second to none and over the years my work team has become like family. My immediate management and department leadership are both supportive and engaged in development and employee satisfaction, and it has led to opportunities for project work and growth. At this point, I can't imagine working somewhere else.

There are lots of perks for associates - fitness center, daycare, flex time and remote work capabilities, tons of events and volunteer opportunities, medical department, company store and discount programs, corporate library, mentor programs, a huge catalog of personal and professional development resources, and of course - pets at work! We can take advantage of tuition reimbursement, pet adoption reimbursement, discounts on Nestle and Purina products, a new 6 month maternity leave, adoption reimbursement, and so much more.

The company puts a lot of emphasis on innovation and continuous improvement, not only in our products and sales, but also in programming and employee satisfaction. The company is dedicated to being a good corporate citizen, and does a ton of work giving back to the community. This is a company you can be really proud to work for, that stands behind its products and values, and empowers its employees to do great work. It's not at all surprising that we have so many people who have dedicated 20, 30, 40, and more years of their lives here.

    Cons

This is a big company that can be a little flat, and it has its share of corporate bureaucracy. Upward mobility can take time and patience. It's really easy to get siloed in our individual work areas/projects, so the ability to work cross-functionally is a huge area of opportunity.

    Advice to Management

Keep pushing for more transparency, more diversity (especially in management teams), and more innovation. Be open to non-traditional work structures!

I have been working at Nestlé Purina full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    - Work life balance is strong at Nestle Purina. I have the opportunity to attend my children's events and still get my job done.
    - I've been continually challenged throughout my career from a business and a coaching perspective.
    - The pets at work!!

    Cons

    - Pace it getting faster (good and challenging)
    - More direction from the company on the vision for the next 2 years

    Advice to Management

The employee base is dedicated and passionate. Provide us the vision and we will give our full effort to make that happen. Feels like some of the senior leaders know clearly where we are headed but a little disconnected from the general employee base.

I have been working at Nestlé Purina full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Nestle Purina's Leadership is very receptive to individuals careers goals and aspirations. It is very easy to speak to upper management and align on potential career paths that meet your future interests. From those conversations, training and guidance is easy to receive. Nestle Purina's culture is the type of culture that makes you excited to show up everyday and interact with various groups and individuals.

    Cons

In my nearly 3 years, I do not have any Cons about Purina.

    Advice to Management

Please continue the transparency with your employees. This is a key aspect that has made my career and employment with Nestle Purina stand out from the others.

I have been working at Nestlé Purina full-time

    Pros

Flexible environment- While work is very busy and fast paced, they truly allow you the flexibility to be able to take care of yourself and your family.

Co-Workers- many people who are very good at what they do which always leads to an environment that encourages challenge of thought. Also, we have fun at work. We enjoy what we do. Very much a family feel.

The opportunity afforded to me to do what I'm passionate about. I always have an opportunity to learn and develop best in class strategies.

    Cons

Pay is lower compared to others. Politics from the global Nestle can be challenging.

    Advice to Management

Continue to strive to be the best. Consider the value of your people and what they worth, pay them for it. Stand up for what is right for the business. Keep allowing flexibility in work schedules and be open to work from home options.

I have been working at Nestlé Purina full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Nestle is a good overall company. However, get in the wrong department, beware.

    Cons

Nestle prides themselves on how they treat others. However, I have never seen such negativity at any company I have worked at. The PTC REALLY needs help. It is a popularity contest to the managers which is completely wrong.

    Advice to Management

Take a look in the mirror and stop blaming others. YOU are the reason we want to go to other departments (TAGG) or leave the company. Change all of the leadership and you will find better morale in the PTC. Leadership really needs to treat employees fairly, not single them out and actually develop their employees.

I have been working at Nestlé Purina full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great company to work for that offers good benefits, good environment. I like believe in the products we make. Coming up with new ideas to save money, help the war on waste, building networks are just a few of the many thing I enjoy about Nestlé.

    Cons

Managers are always in meetings, how can they apply what they have learned at the meetings to the floor or department when they have so little time with any of us in the departments. Emails and memo's do not have the same effect.

    Advice to Management

Teach us all that you know let us become great leaders too, but while you are teaching listen and you shall learn what we know this will also make you a stronger leader and the greatest teacher. Together we will stand taller

I have been working at Nestlé Purina full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

This company really invests in and listens to its employees. Employees establish long term career and performance goals and Purina provides the resources and time to learn and train. There's an extremely welcoming and open community, and lots of benefits with the objective of retaining employees in a way that's disappeared in this day and age.

    Cons

Nothing I can think of at the moment.

I have been working at Nestlé Purina full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great parental leave if you are having a baby in the near future!

    Cons

Culture has changed for the worse.

Purina brands are dying and Purina doesn't have the brands that consumers are wanting.

St. Louis is out of touch with customers and customer teams in the field. Field is out of touch with St. Louis.

Good talent continues to quit due to poor bosses and better opportunities elsewhere. Nowhere to go if you have a bad boss.

Very clicky- especially at Director and above.

    Advice to Management

Walk the talk. If people are most important to the Company you need to show it.

    Make Purina great again!
