    Cons

The Mira Loma, Cal center has a lot of favoritism. Not a good thing for new employees.

I have been working at Nestlé full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of good people to work with. Most people are smart and hard working. I found a lot of friends here.

    Cons

Mandatory overtime in the microbiology department. All sections of that department match over time each day as well. Not much room for internal advancement. They tell you there is but you have to work at it for months to actually get anywhere and then they usually hire externally as opposed to hiring people who actually work there for higher positions. A lot of focus on continuous improvement initiatives from the management. Normally this would be great but they try to improve upon tasks and jobs they do not perform with asking the lower level employees who actually perform the tasks if they have any ideas.

    Advice to Management

Talk to your employees. Ask them how they can improve their work. Try to limit the amount of samples each company can send per day so that we can forecast the workload better. Finally, promote from within. The turnover rate is high because people feel they cannot go anywhere with this company.

I worked at Nestlé full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great work life balance. Great work space. Good volunteer opportunities.

    Cons

Silo work environment. Do not work together as a team.

    Advice to Management

To be the most effective team, better team collaboration is needed. Big ideas will come from putting heads together!

I worked at Nestlé full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

They pay decently. It is a clean work environment. They provide uniforms and shoes. The plant smells very nice. Lots of supervision.

    Cons

Zero communications, too many new "business plans" that never come to fruition. Terrible training and safety plans. They make it very clear that they do not care for their employees

    Advice to Management

    Listen to employees

I worked at Nestlé full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits. Decent work/life balance. Okay pay. Free coffee!

    Cons

Where to begin! Super corporate. Stuck in their ways. Find themselves "innovative" but their ideas are outdated. You can't move up in the company unless you're very political. Extremely hard to gain opportunities. Company wastes a lot of time on safety (FOR AN OFFICE). Very stick to the book type company. Claims to be "transparent" within, but will punish you for speaking up if you see something wrong. Just an awful work environment.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate your employees! Take their advice. Listen. Be more creative. Create a more fun and open work environment. Loosen your tie a little, in other words.

    Pros

Good chromatography and lab experience for new graduates. Opportunities to join groups that work with other parts of the business and learn corporate process'. Experienced co-workers.

    Cons

Horrible management, horrible cut-throat culture, favoritism, and pretentiousness. Limited opportunity to move up. No work life balance. Extremely flawed feedback and performance evaluation process.

    Advice to Management

    Quit.

I worked at Nestlé full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Large company and very well known (in a positive way)

    Cons

Engineers are all older and typical of good ol' boys club. Not into diversification and very little motivation and incentive to enjoy the work. Engineers aren't really engineers and contract work out, so little opportunity for learning and development. No one seemed to like their job and I was told the engineers quitting was due to an "engineering exodus" because no one liked working there.

    Advice to Management

Get some new (and younger) faces in the business and build a brighter work environment.
