"A company as big as Nestle couldn't possibly promote this style of managment, could they?"

I worked at Nestlé full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nestle offers some great courses for advancing your knowledge & skill set through their inter-company Nestle University.
I came across some very good employees & people within the organization during my time there.

    Cons

Senior management had military management mindset of command & control over their subordinates. They choose management by fear & used that method as their motivating tool. High turn over rate in the salary ranks.

    Advice to Management

View and treat your employees as valuable contributors to the company & empower them rather than try to manage using fear of losing your job as a motivational tool.

I worked at Nestlé full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fair compensation package. Focused on making a quality product. The hourly employees are pleasant and have the right additude.

    Cons

New head of NUSA will ruin what little (very little) work life balance was left for business professionals. Its an "and company". meaning company want you to do this and that, but they won't properly support with the proper resources. Company is interested in doing "good" as long as it can be promoted, but not really interested in doing good because its the proper thing to do. Way to much office politics and acceptance of poor Local Committee management. New Plant Manager is running off good talent and young talented workers.

    Advice to Management

Quite trying to cover your butt and start doing what is right, if you even know what is right anymore?

    Pros

Great job if you are young.

    Cons

They dump you as soon as you turn fifty-something

    Advice to Management

Older workers are the best workers. They are stable and do not have young family problems.

    Pros

Nestlé has taken over the company and will hopefully bring in new management after seeing how the company is ran.

    Cons

Human resources and management do not know what they are doing. It is not equal opportunity. There is a manager that had an affair with supervisor and management is aware of the issue but does nothing.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to the hourly employees

I worked at Nestlé full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are no pros, it is a stop-gap job!

    Cons

Horrible company! Why are they turning over and always hiring people?...the last 8 years here in NEast Pa, they are always hiring, everyone knows they treat people horrible, no training, allow employees to argue and fight amongst themselves....they are like every other American Co. now.....clue-less managers who are in constant fear of losing their jobs, so in turn, that trickles down.....horrible, what a joke Nestle is, could write a book.

    Advice to Management

    What management??????, are you serious?

I worked at Nestlé full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There seem to be more paid holidays (like Christmas Eve and day after Christmas, not only Christmas day) than a majority of companies. Benefits are good.

    Cons

The company expects you to take more and more work - endlessly. However, you get neither recognitions for what you have contributed nor raise.

"Biggest Food company in the world with strong brands and good profit records"

    Star Star Star Star Star
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Provide diversified job opportunities and a good co to learn and leave once you have mastered.

    Cons

Unreasonable work pressure and most bosses are very selfish with their short term objectives resulting in those working below with tremendous work stress ...resulting in many having health problems today. Recently one died of heart attack due to unreasonable work pressure .

    Advice to Management

Management should look into longer term objectives which are sustainable and not by achieving results today for tomorrow. Many good and experience employees will leave after getting their bonus / perfomamce bonus which longer term the company will loose .
Without motivated employess , Nestle Malaysia will not go far .
