I have been working at Nestlé USA full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good pay and good health and wellness benefits. And that is basically it. No longer a plus in one's resume.

    Cons

One of the least diverse senior leadership team of any US Food company. Narrow minded, short term focus. The divestiture of the chocolate business is only a sign of another failed attempt to lead in food.

    Advice to Management

End the musical chair strategy to identify future leadership. Get serious about idea leadership and open your hearts and minds to new talent.

I have been working at Nestlé USA full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I've been working at Nestle for over 10 years and it's painful to watch the company disintegrate and all the marketing and other talent walk out the door. The next 18 months will be complete chaos as the company relocates to Virginia and attempts to transfer knowledge to new people. And, since there's no organized knowledge transfer process that won't happen anyway. Morale is terrible in Glendale and nothing -- I repeat nothing-- is being done about it. Completely clueless HR team.

    Cons

Good luck recruiting young, cheap talent in Virginia.

    Advice to Management

    They won't listen, anyway.

I have been working at Nestlé USA full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Salaries and benefits are good. Professional environment with "Nestle Nice" driving business relationships.

    Cons

Flat org chart, very little advancement. Long hours. Management that does not listen. "Nestle Nice" is dying. Slashing budgets and head count. Too afraid to innovate.

    Advice to Management

Nestle USA, formerly of Glendale, CA (now in the Wash DC area) is circling the drain. It's on its way downward folks. Used to be a great company to work for. No longer. All it does now is slash and cut people and budgets. No innovation. Employees are not listened to. And now Nestle is moving to the Washington DC area and throwing thousands of people out of work in Glendale. Terrible. I could go on a rant here.....

I have been working at Nestlé USA full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Nestle is aggressive about promoting their products in order to grow the business which can grow the salespersons income. They have very good medical and dental.

    Cons

They don't care very much about the individual. They say they expect home/work-life balance as well as providing a safe company to work for but they expect everyone to work such incredibly long hours that both are sacrificed. The management is very out of touch and only cares about their bottom line.

    Advice to Management

Get a new Area Sales Manager and listen to their people.

    Pros

used to be a good company years ago

    Cons

Does not care about the employees, leaving California without any regard for the future of those employeed. Not offered to relocate, just told "too bad"

    Advice to Management

Try to care about those that have supported you over the years.

I have been working at Nestlé USA full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Hardly any pros left to speak of other than you still receive a paycheck every 2 weeks.

    Cons

ZERO work/life balance. Holidays and weekend work is required.
Policy over people mentality. Safety worksheets preached and imaginary quotas set.
No longer a sales force, more compliance based.
Lose volume and space year after year.
You are expected to work 9-10 hour workdays while your boss who often works from home is extremely unfair with the amount of help you are given for the day.
Safety is preached, however the sense is that the company is more concerned with whether or not your injury is recordable over the fact that you were injured in the first place.
DSD itself is on extremely thin ice, other companies are going with the warehouse method and nestle has done nothing to prove it is invested in DSD. They just layed off most of their account level people and gave that responsibility to a third party.

    Advice to Management

Walk your talk. If you expect your sales team to stick around and put in 110%, then when I'm still packing out stores at 6pm and need more help you shouldn't be home.
Care more for the person with the injury instead of how the injury was handled.
If you're going to kill the Edys brand then do it already. We no longer carry it in Walmart, and the other accounts barely have half a door. It has become irrelevant.
Instead of nickel and diming out support and hours, why not actually go back to selling product?
Also, why is a New Digiorno item coming in through the warehouse?

I have been working at Nestlé USA full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits. Lots of paid time off if you stick around for a long time. Really great people who are giving everything they've got.

    Cons

With the Glendale, CA facility closing and major reorganizations in other parts of the company, everything is in complete chaos. No decisions are being made. People have been told the title of their new job but not what their actual responsibilities are. The next 18 months until the Virginia facility is fully staffed will be utter hell as the company will be understaffed and then trying to do knowledge transfer to the droves of new people in Virginia. I'm only hanging around because I'm close to retirement. If you see other positive reviews, that person must be living in a bubble.

    Advice to Management

Management basically feels that the company is so broken that the only way to innovate is to move the company so that most of the Glendale employees will leave & they can "upgrade the talent". Too bad they are unwilling to give employees technology from the current decade. Too bad that they've cut headcount so low that everyone is exhausted & burnt out. The CEO is salivating with the hope of being invited to the White House. I count the weeks until I can take my cash & bail.
