I worked at Nestlé Waters North America full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I was able to fine tune my leadership skills as well as transfer laterally to learn new roles throughout the organization. I enjoyed the challenges and the opportunities to step out of my comfort zone to achieve lofty goals. This was also a great place to learn how to manage work/life balance.

    Cons

Opportunity for advancement (passed over 3 times) and constant manager turnover (9 different managers).

    Advice to Management

Use developmental tools to give internal candidates more consideration for promotions. MYM is also great for all levels of leadership and should continue to be utilized.

"Vacation time amount and calling out for sickness"

I have been working at Nestlé Waters North America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The biggest pro to working 12-hour shifts for me is that I only end up working 3-4 nights a week so you get a lot of time off each month that a normal 8-5 gig wouldn't allow you to do.

You get 40 hours of sick time for the year, which sounds good until you realize that that too is only 3.3 days worth because of the 12-hour shifts. And you'll still get those occurrence points against you for being responsible and calling out when you're sick and contagious.

    Cons

When it comes time to use vacation/sick time you get royally jipped. Each employee gets 80 hours to start when full time; 40 vaca and 40 personal/sick. But working 12hr shifts, that week of vacation only comes out to being 3.3 days off for the year. For an office or 8-hr shift worker, that week is a full 5 days off.

Sick time, hah! You are only allowed 8 occurrences per rolling calendar year. Calling out is 1 point. Getting to work late/leaving early is either .5 or 1 points depending on the time. So if you're sick you're better off to just go to work and not miss any time or take the occurrence risking your job.

I worked at Nestlé Waters North America as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great atmosphere to work in. I loved that my supervisor gave me plenty of space to work and trusted me to complete my tasks without hovering over me. She and everyone else at the Coppell location were very friendly and helpful. I made a lot of connections that will aid in my professional growth.

    Cons

I spent most of my time on the computer working on my projects so some days went by quite slow. Not a lot of hands on experience in my time at Nestle Waters North America regarding facility management and interior design.

    Advice to Management

Provide more hands on experience to really show future interns what the full process will be like such as visiting job sites.
