I have been working at NetApp full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, good benefits, some really nice people. Easy to park, good cafeteria. Some buildings are being brought to
    Modern days. Free coffee.

    Cons

Continued revolving door of VPs and executives is a non-stop. Tight circles at the top of people who don't agree. Lack of enterprise operations models. Innovation is completely slow and un-funded.

I have been working at NetApp full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Nice benefits if you're at Corporate in Sunnyvale.

    Cons

If you're in sales, good times. If not, pay attention! You're getting squeezed into oblivion. HR is NOT your friend.
NetApp culture is dead and gone.
Senior Sales executives are making ego based IT infrastructure decisions.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to make yourselves look good. It's killing everyone else.

I worked at NetApp full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Friendly, collaborative atmosphere. Used to have a great culture.

    Cons

Too much bureaucracy stifles efficiency and innovation. Bloated middle management runs the business like high school. If you're not in the clique, you don't get promoted and you're not listened to. Senior management struggling to find a place for the company in the new virtual storage environment.

    Advice to Management

Focus less on making the shareholders happy, and more on making the employees happy. Shareholders come and go, but good employees are what make a great company. There was a reason it was #1 on the Fortune list of great companies to work for, and there is a reason it's not even on the list today. Let employees rate their manager, get rid of the poorly-rated ones.

    Approves of CEO

I worked at NetApp full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Not super stressful. Decent perks - on-site cafeteria, gym, etc. I think the CEO is doing an ok job - he is committed, passionate, and holds himself accountable. I just don't think there is much he can do to steer this ship around.

    Cons

Not the top tier of people. A lot of top talent has left. It's a shrinking market so there's only so much NetApp can do. If you are near the end of your career, it might be ok to stick it out there, but otherwise, not a good place to develop your career.

Not as much flexibility as I would have liked.

    Advice to Management

Laser focus on just a couple things. Even now, the portfolio is still too big. Cut your losses and just do a small number of things.

    Pros

    Good team members, good salary

    Cons

New regime does not respect longer term employees. Change not well thought out, feels arbitrary, poor communication - on a "need to know basis"

    Advice to Management

Respect the history that made us what we are. All feedback is not a reluctance to change. We are recreating past failures.
