I have been working at NetApp full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great work life balance Get to work with a lot of talented people

    Cons

Terrible documentation and training. Could have been managed better.

    Advice to Management

Tribal knowledge is prevalent at Netapp. Spread it around, have proper documentation for employees to look at. Starting confluence and TOI is a good start.

I worked at NetApp full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Compensation and benefits are good. Lots of work flexibility in terms of work from home or office and when you come-and-go. Pockets of genuinely nice- and smart people but, alas, that population seems to be declining.

    Cons

I was there for a number of years and company has become much more political over that time. Senior executives very much focused on their BU fiefdoms and careers more than helping NetApp succeed as a whole. Culture of inclusive-, consensus management has degraded into something worthless: lots of discussion and passive-aggressive behavior with slow- or timid decision-making. Company can't seem to place bold bets... to pivot away from competency selling on-premises hardware systems. Admittedly executing very well in that space but, alas, that's ultimately a declining market. Work/life balance is great in some groups but terrible in others. Some groups require weekly- or even daily interaction between the U.S. and India that can be very painful both from a work/life balance perspective and work productivity perspective.

    Advice to Management

Cloud business unit is trying to help pivot the company but company is still too focused on "storage" services that may not be sufficiently attractive to cloud buyers for long. Need more bold-, decisive moves into "data management" services rather than "storage management" to enable more enduring growth but not seeing that happen.

I have been working at NetApp full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great work life balance. Especially if you work 3 day weekend or 4 tens. Pay is great! Training is near perfect. They give you all the tools needed to be successful. Very relaxed atmosphere and non strict dress code. You can literally work in shorts and a T-shirt. Each team is very close. I enjoy beer bash and dart wars!

    Cons

You have to worry about layoffs. A lot of products which is over saturated I’m my opinion. Need to innovate more.

    Advice to Management

Take advice from the younger workforce because they’re our future and we need them for new ideas and innovation.
