I have been working at Netcentric full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good (Apple) equipment. Nice offices with comfortable furniture. Flexible working hours. Possibilities for remote work. Paid Adobe and Java certifications. Paid conference attendance once per year. Paid gym. 30 days of paid vacation per year. Usage of modern software to facilitate daily work (Jira, Slack, Bitbucket, Confluence, Google Mail, Google Calendar, Starleaf). Bonus system (very irrational...

    Cons

Declaratively, company is flat-structured and driven by Holacracy process. In reality, there is a small group of people which basically make all decisions behind the door. In this group are shareholders (The Founders) and several people who joined the company at the very beginning. The mental gap between The Founders and rest of the company is huge. Company values are not worth the paper they are written on. In reality,...

I have been working at Netcentric full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Challenging projects - International culture - A LOT of freedom to chose what you want to work on (if you speak up) - Holacracy (if you speak up) - Nearly instant decision taking - No bureaucracy whatsoever - Peer bonus system

    Cons

    - You work a lot, too much if you do not take care of yourself - If you want a 9-to-5 job, this is not for you - If you do not get actively involved in Holacracy, it is not for you - If you do not speak up, this is not for you

    Advice to Management

    - Make it easier for staff to get involved - Be more active rolling out Holacracy (too many people waiting for roles) - Keep the ONE COMPANY spirit intact - be careful about the spreading "local cultures"

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Netcentric for more than a year

    Pros

    -> The people and the multi cultural environment; -> In some ways, the way netcentric does projects is very structured and organised; Tools as slack, JIRA and Confluence are well used there; -> Flexibility for home office; -> No one cares whether you speak german or not;

    Cons

    -> The whole holocracy/flat hierarchies thing is a lie; -> The tech stack is bad. It is simply not challenging working with AEM (Adobe's CMS framework); -> No time given for personal projects; -> management puts revenue before their employees well being -> decision making power on projects is not well distributed. Juniors often don’t have a voice; -> Salaries, bonuses and other compensations are not that great;

I worked at Netcentric full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - A great place for students, first job engineers or AEM masters to lead the company. - Work life balance: 30 days of vacation, flexible hours, working from home (absolutely amazing!) - People: really nice, kind and helpful. - Holocracy allows you to involve yourself as much as you want . - A company on a journey of self definition allowing people to be part of it - Company culture that encourages to help and being...

    Cons

    - Being a consultancy based on AEM: depending on clients is not always the best and the technology itself is not appealing once you master the basics (specially the low end part of the back end). The cool parts are usually on the hands of leads and architects. - Probably not a long term company for non-seniors: key roles are taken and you can get stuck with low responsibilities and accountabilities even when you are...

    Advice to Management

    - Try not to rush things and keep the growth organic - New business units are a good idea to offer a full digitalisation product (not only AEM) - Try to keep the talented people, it's super hard to find AEM engineers out there

I have been working at Netcentric full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - profesional working equipment - organizational structure is promising and future oriented - autonomous work within challenging projects - fun is part of the daily work - freedom of choice in terms of software technology - lots of possibilities offered for personal development

    Cons

    - the autonomous work requires a good self-time-management - if you do not bring that it can lead to overload - regarding personal development: it requires a lot of self confidence to demand the time for it or you do it in you spare time - not everything is as transparent as it is communicated - some topics are open for everyone to read but not communicated proactivly

    Advice to Management

resource planning is not the best - room for improvment

I have been working at Netcentric full-time for more than a year

    Pros

NC runs off holocracy, so if you want to be engaged, you can really affect the way the company does things. I really think this is the best job I've ever had. There are excellent benefits, and working from home often is not a problem, so long as you're getting work done. I really enjoy the advocate-programme, where each employee has someone else looking out for their personal growth plan. The work itself, at least...

    Cons

I can't speak to the rest of the offices, but in BCN the salaries are still low. This means people move on more frequently, and good talent is lost to the market. Also, it can be difficult to move up pathway levels, so sometimes people can only grow by leaving.

    Advice to Management

Don't limit movement between pathway levels!

    I worked at Netcentric

    Pros

They respect the people: proper contracts, good remuneration, and a lot of flexibility in terms of time and responsibilities. Each person's development is looked after. There's a lot of trust. (These things are not automatic in Barcelona, even in well-sounding companies.)

    Cons

The teams are distributed which brings the usual difficulties: video-conferencing, availability, language, timing, and so on. The work is big projects for big clients, so there is bureaucracy (time-keeping etc). I don't think these cons are avoidable. In the main, netcentric keeps them under control and if you have an inspiration on how to improve, I'm sure everyone will be happy to hear it.

    Advice to Management

    Carry on.

    Pros

Great Work environment. Possibility of occasionally working from home. Very professional atmosphere with good practices and good code. Flexible work schedule Friendly and very professional co-workers

    Cons

While some projects are very interesting, there is a change of working on projects that are not that interesting or are just email related.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work with the Monthly Meetings it's good to know how the company is going and it is good to feel part of it.

I worked at Netcentric full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Avantages Previous CEO did a fantastic job shaping the company. Apple equipment Comfortable office furniture Organic fruits, beverages... Breakfast Great company events Team of good people Possible to get Adobe certifications Easy to work from home Modulable working hours Benefits package

    Cons

Holacracy is used internally as an illusion to let everyone believe they have the power to decide. In fact the power game is more complex. Many hit the limit rapidly and decide to stop trying. Since resignation of previous CEO, the company is much more political than it was. With a flat hierarchy, it is easy for someone with ambition to approach management and look for approval to then behave bossy among its team. Most...

    Advice to Management

Management should delegate operational matters and rather focus on managing the company. Management is too often contacted for silly things when someone needs attention, thus deviating their attention. Management shouldn't give more importance to someone just because he speaks their language.
