I have been working at Netcentric full-time for more than a year

    Pros

For an IT company typical, you can expect benefits like fruits, free yoga classes and so on. Basically most of the benefits you can think of, are offered here. The best is actually the work environment. I truly like to go to work just because of the people. I also prefer to work onsite over working remotely. Most are really friendly, humorous and helpful. The work life balance is actually quite good. Of course,...

    Cons

Well, salaries are typical for Barcelona and therefore low compared to what software engineers are getting paid in other places. Even though they are working on their system of how someone can get promoted, it still has some downsides. In order to get promoted, you will have to achieve badges in which you have to proof your knowledge (through interviews, videos, demos etc.). It seems like an easy system to get promoted,...

    Pros

    - Great office location (way away from the cesspool of unfulfilled dreams and depression which is Pipera); - Great office design and amenities; - MacBook Pro as workstation; - Working from home opportunities; - Flexible schedule; - Standing desks and ergonomic chairs; - Holacracy system of management; - A perfect place if you are eager to go head on with challenges and you are someone who likes to leave their...

I have been working at Netcentric full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Apple software that you can keep, per policy, after its replacement time - Flexible working hours and the opportunity to work from home if you wish to and your project managers agree - Multicultural environment, great atmosphere amongst colleagues. Great offices with plenty of space and light - Diversity of projects for clients in a variety of industries - Chance to travel to other locations or onsite with the client,...

    Cons

    - The current "Advocate" model, where employees are assigned a group of their colleagues, to mentor and help in their career path and with other issues or needs they may have, was not working for a while. However, at the time of writing this post, Netcentric is testing a new and improved leadership model.

    Advice to Management

Always preserve the spirit of Netcentric: dynamic, constantly evolving and inclusive of everyone's voice, and keep on learning and taking action from all employees feedback, as we continue to grow. You've made some adventurous decisions, and they always turned out right, that's what makes working at Netcentric so challenging and so much fun.

I have been working at Netcentric full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    * Latest Apple Equipment * Multicultural Team * Flexible Working Hours * 30 days paid vacation * Working from home is usually possible * Great offices.

    Cons

The company has a really low technical ceiling for developers. After a short while, everything seems repetitive, and personal growth on a technical level stagnates completely. On the other hand, the consulting skills ceiling is sky high, so developers who want to steer into the business consulting world have a great opportunity here. Holacracy is used as a false promise of a flat hierarchy and individual empowerment....

    Advice to Management

It's still not too late to turn the ship around. The current mindset where revenue and growth are the sole motivation for the company's existence is flawed. Ramp up salaries, stop insane growth, rethink the compensation system and find a way to motivate the workforce beyond company's revenue. Listen to the employees. All the answers are there.

    Pros

    - Latest Apple equipment - International team - Working from home is usually not a problem - Flexible work hours

    Cons

Everything seems to point that the previous CEO was the one who knew what Holacracy meant. The current implementation of the hierarchy is like most other companies. The company has around 15 founders which are the only people that actually matter and really have decision power, the rest of the people seem disposable. They keep repeating that “everyone has a voice” which is true, but the only voices that are heard are...

    - Salaries are low for every market (be it Spain, Germany, Swiss) compared to the current market state. - A company uses AEM for everything, even if it doesn't work properly (although company focus is on Enterprise Content Management). Advice to Management

    - The company grows too fast. Slow down hiring, look into the current talent pool, a lot of people deserve an "upgrade". Instead of hiring more senior people, shift around the current talents, you will get much better results and much more investment from the actual employees (this is for technical employees, cannot rate the consultancy/management). Everyone wants to contribute, but not many want to because they don't...

    Cons

    - Benefits are slowly fading away (sailing, conferences, ...). - There are talented people, but they all work in isolated projects. Declaratively, company is flat-structured and driven by Holacracy process. In reality, there is a small group of people which basically make all decisions behind the door. In this group are shareholders (The Founders) and several people who joined the company at the very beginning. The mental gap between The Founders and rest of the company is huge. Company values are not worth the paper they are written on. In reality,...
