I worked at Netcentric full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I'd say that the work environment is the best thing you'll find there and that's because most of the people are friendly and helpful, not to mention that the office looks pretty cool. The usual free coffee and tea are complemented with juice, biscuits and other snacks. The company supports and sponsors all kind of different events and team buildings. They have offices in different cities across Europe and you'll get...

I would say that the technology stack is at least uncommon, they use the Adobe Marketing Cloud. In general, I think that AEM is a robust solution, however, its complexity may be found difficult at the beginning, especially for users who have never had any experience with such a tool before. The point is that AEM offers many features,...

Improve promotion system. Don't reallocate resources in the middle of the project. Keep the nice work environment. Improve the benefits&compensations package.

I have been working at Netcentric full-time for more than a year

    Pros

For an IT company typical, you can expect benefits like fruits, free yoga classes and so on. Basically most of the benefits you can think of, are offered here. The best is actually the work environment. I truly like to go to work just because of the people. I also prefer to work onsite over working remotely. Most are really friendly, humorous and helpful. The work life balance is actually quite good. Of course,...

Well, salaries are typical for Barcelona and therefore low compared to what software engineers are getting paid in other places. Even though they are working on their system of how someone can get promoted, it still has some downsides. In order to get promoted, you will have to achieve badges in which you have to proof your knowledge (through interviews, videos, demos etc.). It seems like an easy system to get promoted,...

I have been working at Netcentric full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The company offers great working environment, flexible working hours and work from home policy. Also, the team is really friendly and helpful when you need technical support, even though you mainly work in a distributed team.

    Cons

Mainly, the technology, you only work with AEM.

    Pros

    - DevOps technology stack is the norm, there is no place for manual tasks in performing operational tasks. Quite well automated, rather solid solutions. - they are open to working from home occasionally.

    Cons

    - Credential management for access inside the company or towards customer's data center is awful : shared accounts, user and passwords flying around over slack channels with tens of employees in it. Considering the operated product (AEM) with customer sensitive data, a sound customer will terminate the contract with them yesterday. - no training, induction or context, tasks...

    Advice to Management

If Bucharest management would treat Swiss or German employees the same way they treat the Bucharest ones, well, some law-suites will appear. Motivation is more than throwing petty rewards at people. Hire real professional managers rather than most of the amateurs who's only attribute is "being here at the beginning". Set up induction and training plans, especially for newcomers.

    - The office is great. - We had a very big kitchen and fridge so it was really to easy to eat there with the collegues, you didn't have to worry about going to have lunch outside the office. - We had MacBooks Pro, the best ones, 15', i7, 16GB RAM, 500GB SSD - They have a great system with all the information about the company that you will need as an employee. Advice to Management

Sometimes it is better to say the truth from the begining, to say that you need fired someone just because you can't manage to have more trainees in real projects, that say any other thing. I understand that a company is made to make money. You can tell me or tell anyone that they are being fired because you can not have them. It is not the same being fired because you are bad at programming or at AEM than being fired...

    Cons

    - The current "Advocate" model, where employees are assigned a group of their colleagues, to mentor and help in their career path and with other issues or needs they may have, was not working for a while. However, at the time of writing this post, Netcentric is testing a new and improved leadership model.

    Advice to Management

Always preserve the spirit of Netcentric: dynamic, constantly evolving and inclusive of everyone's voice, and keep on learning and taking action from all employees feedback, as we continue to grow. You've made some adventurous decisions, and they always turned out right, that's what makes working at Netcentric so challenging and so much fun.

    Advice to Management

    - The company grows too fast. Slow down hiring, look into the current talent pool, a lot of people deserve an "upgrade". Instead of hiring more senior people, shift around the current talents, you will get much better results and much more investment from the actual employees (this is for technical employees, cannot rate the consultancy/management). Everyone wants to contribute, but not many want to because they don't...

    -> The people and the multi cultural environment; -> In some ways, the way netcentric does projects is very structured and organised; Tools as slack, JIRA and Confluence are well used there; -> Flexibility for home office; -> No one cares whether you speak german or not;

    Cons

-> The whole holocracy/flat hierarchies thing is a lie; -> The tech stack is bad. NC runs off holocracy, so if you want to be engaged, you can really affect the way the company does things. I really think this is the best job I've ever had. Cons

I can't speak to the rest of the offices, but in BCN the salaries are still low. This means people move on more frequently, and good talent is lost to the market. Also, it can be difficult to move up pathway levels, so sometimes people can only grow by leaving.

    Advice to Management

Don't limit movement between pathway levels!
