Reviews about "work environment"

Pros
Laid back work environment with free drinks and sometimes food. You can arrange (depending on your dept) your own work schedule without too much supervision.
Cons
Netspend does not offer very good pay rates as compared to what other companies are offering for the same roles. Despite the fact that it has been expanding, Netspend does not seem to have many opportunities for career advancement.

Pros
Good company to work for with great people. Close team-work environment.
Cons
Processes often change. Some departments don't have well-organized policies and procedures.

Pros
Love my co-workers. Very friendly, inclusive culture. Laid-back work environment. Lots of social activities and community events. Incredible financial growth. Very stable corporate ownership. Solid leadership team.
Cons
Lacks diversity at the senior level. Growth opportunities dramatically slows down/stops once you hit a certain level.

Opportunities and experience
Jun 17, 2014 - Anonymous Employee in Austin, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The work environment is relaxed and friendly. Our HR team is always looking for ways to improve culture and add to the experience of working 9-5. Open positions are usually filled from within the company and promotions are granted when earned. Leadership is open to new ideas and recognizes efforts of top performing employees. Free parking downtown is provided 24/7 and most departments have flexible working schedules. NetSpend is also growing revenue YOY at impressive rates.
Cons
Although promotions are available and common, the only way to earn the market standard is to be hired from outside of the company. Internal employees are giving a percent of their salary as an increase, instead of market value. The executive team can sometimes be misleading with information on how the company is performing and why some decisions are made. Our executive team also likes to keep head count low to save on costs, but this in turn provides very little resources in our IT department which leads to long turn around times on projects.

Pros
Great company in a growing, fast pace financial sector. Comfortable and relaxed environment with challenging and stimulating work opportunities. I really like the fun happy hour activities hosted by HR and the departments.
Cons
medical cost seem high for family, but i am in major medical plan for singles and it is reasonable. They do contribute cash to my HSA. That's good.

Chill work environment
Feb 14, 2021 - User Experience Researcher in Austin, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Security, never felt like I would loose my job No overtime, ever. HR is actually very nice and helpful, they care about the work environment and try to make fun team activities. Chill work environment.
Cons
Feels likes treading water a lot of the time. When work gets done it is usually good but I couldn’t get used to the slow pace. Of course different teams are different so take this with a grain of salt. For me there was very little room for growth.
